Colorectal cancer is hitting young Americans the hardest

Becca Lynch, a 29-year-old cybersecurity professional in Denver, was diagnosed with stage 3B colon cancer last year after months of symptoms she attributed to stress. Those symptoms included pencil-thin bowel movements, significantly increased frequency and eventually thick, dark blood with each movement. She delayed getting a colonoscopy for several months even after recognizing the warning signs, in part because she could not believe the cause was serious.
