Ed Harris stars as Everett McKinney in the Paramount+ series Dutton Ranch and he is getting very candid about his experience working on the show.
The Oscar-nominated actor says that he’s signed on for two seasons of the Yellowstone spin-off, but he is “frustrated” over what happened while filming the first season.
Ed opened up while walking the red carpet for the premiere of his new movie, The Dink.
Ed Harris was not happy while filming Dutton Ranch season one
Ed told Variety that “midway through this first season” he was telling his team to “get me the f–k out of here.”
“I didn’t feel I was being used. I felt a little bit misled. Prior to signing on for it, I was talked to quite a bit about what the season was, and what my character was going to do, and that I was one of the four main characters. And that wasn’t really the case,” Ed said.
He continued, “I said, ‘I’m feeling underused and inconsequential,’ and they kind of went, ‘Oh.’”

Ed says that filming on season two will begin in February 2027.
“I’m being told my character will have a little bit more to do [in Season 2]. I was just a little frustrated, to tell you the truth.”
Ed Harris thought the show was “pretty good” when he watched it
“When I watched it, I watched the season, and it was fine. I thought it was pretty good. And I felt fine about what I did in it and it seemed like I was relatively important to the story. But, the doing of it did not feel that way,” Ed said.
“And what really pissed me off, to tell you the truth, the first episode, I think it was the second, one of the things they told me before I signed on was, ‘Hey, you get to sing. In the bar.’ So there’s this scene in there… I walk up to the mic, and they cut it. They cut the song out. I’m going, ‘F–k you, people,’” he said.
Ed added, “I did it and they didn’t show it. They said it was too ‘up’ for the dark ending of that episode. And that to me was reason enough to say, ‘I’m voiding my contract.’”
Ed Harris says he felt “misled” about his “inconsequential” role on “Dutton Ranch,” and that halfway through filming Season 1, he was telling his team to “get me the f— out of here.”

We already know that there will be a major shakeup to the second season of Dutton Ranch.
