My Royal Nemesis Episode 13 is now streaming on Netflix. The latest entry of the streamer’s romantic K-drama, starring Lim Ji-yeon, Heo Nam-jun, and Jang Seung-jo, marks the penultimate episode, setting the stage for an intense finale.
The penultimate episode began with Se-gye rescuing Seo-ri’s grandmother’s restaurant, after it was about to be demolished by Mun-do’s thugs. While Se-gye and his right-hand man, Son Jae-han, managed to save the restaurant, the episode concluded with Seo-ri’s grandmother’s death, after she took her final breaths in her granddaughter’s presence. My Royal Nemesis Episode 13 was high on emotions as Seo-ri’s grandmother shared some parting words with both Se-gye and her granddaughter, before leaving for her heavenly abode.
Here is the complete recap.
My Royal Nemesis Episode 13 revealed the truth about Shin Seo-ri’s past
My Royal Nemesis has maintained that Shin Seo-ri was possessed by the body of a ruthless and cunning concubine of the Joseon dynasty, Kang Dan-shim. However, it was strange that Dan-Shim had memories of Seo-ri’s childhood, since she had never experienced that life. Episode 13 featured yet another memory from Seo-ri’s childhood.
When she was 12 years old, her family drove their car into a lake in a mass su*c*de attempt. However, Seo-ri managed to escape, and her soul was sent 300 years into the past, likely in Dan-shim’s body. While Dan-shim believed that it was a case of possession, My Royal Nemesis Episode 13 revealed that Seo-ri managed to return to her real body after much struggle.
As Seo-ri confided this truth in Se-gye, she lamented over her life’s tragedies. After the terrible incident and being transported to the Joseon dynasty, she was sold into slavery, and her life took a harrowing turn until she met Se-gye’s past incarnation, the Goblin Prince. As Seo-ri channeled her life story into her performance and gained praise, Tae-hee discovered a portrait of a Joseon woman from a museum, who resembled her. Elsewhere, a curator found the Goblin Prince’s diary from the British Museum, which suggested he regretted his relationship with Dan-shim, deepening the mystery that might be resolved in the finale.
My Royal Nemesis Episode 13 concluded on an intense cliffhanger

In the final moments of My Royal Nemesis Episode 13, Se-gye went out to buy fruits for a heartbroken Seo-ri, after her grandmother’s passing, when he was stabbed by a mysterious man in a hoodie. While the episode did not reveal the man’s identity, he was likely sent by Mun-do as revenge for Dal-Su kidnapping his son. With Se-gye’s connection with Tae-hee and Mun-do being harassed by cops in connection with Nurse Kim’s death, he is paranoid and suspects his uncle of his son’s kidnapping.
The penultimate episode had another mind-bending twist in its final moments. After shaman Jung-Ae’s body was possessed by the Joseon era shaman Bo-sal, he paid a special visit to Seo-ri when she was crying outside Se-gye’s hospital room after the stabbing. As Seo-ri instantly recognized Bo-Sal, the Joseon era shaman made an ominous prophecy and revealed that her lover Se-gye is fated to die just like the Goblin Prince in the Joseon era.
Seo-ri was visibly shaken by this frightening prophecy in My Royal Nemesis Episode 13. Bo-sal further revealed that the only way to save Se-gye is for the successful actress to go back in time and save the Goblin Prince. While this would guarantee Se-gye’s life, Seo-ri would never be able to return in the present and be with him. The penultimate episode concluded with Seo-ri standing at the crossroads. She can either choose to go back in time as a slandered concubine and save Se-gye or stay in the present as a successful actress and see Se-gye die.
