American actress Daveigh Chase passed away on Tuesday, June 16. The Lilo & Stitch star died at an early age of 35. Chase’s boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, created a GoFundMe page a few days before her death.
After her death, Roy informed TMZ that her girlfriend had meningitis and multiple severe blood infections. These infections resulted in septic complications that caused her body to shut down. The reports also stated that the actress was admitted to a hospital in LA earlier this month due to malnutrition.
Daveigh Chase’s boyfriend also shared her health struggles via GoFundMe. He revealed that her condition was serious, and the doctors said she didn’t have much time left.
“Daveigh was diagnosed with meningitis and several serious blood infections. Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left. All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days.” Roy Hernandez wrote.

Roy also wrote about the difficult upbringing of the late actress. He revealed that Daveigh Chase and her family had a falling out. Roy continued by saying that she struggled to find safety since she was bullied. Roy revealed that he pledged to love and console her.
“But behind the scenes, she’s faced more than her share of hardship. After a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA. When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope.” Roy wrote on GoFundMe.
Daveigh Chase is known for her roles as a child actor in ‘The Ring.’ For her role in the horror movie, she won the Best Villain title at the 2002 MTV Movie Awards. She also gave her voice to Lilo in Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch.’ She also voiced Chihiro Ogino in ‘Spirited Away.’
