Game 5 of the NBA Finals tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET in San Antonio
Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET Tonight, June 13, at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. The New York Knicks enter with a 3-1 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs and can clinch their first NBA championship since 1973 with a road victory tonight.
The Knicks have already won both of their road games in this series, taking Games 1 and 2 in San Antonio before splitting the two games at Madison Square Garden. A third road win would give New York the title and end the longest championship drought in franchise history.
The Spurs enter Game 5 looking to respond after one of the most painful losses in recent Finals history. San Antonio led by as many as 29 points in Game 4 before the Knicks staged the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history to steal the game 107-106 in the final minutes. That result pushed the series to its current 3-1 deficit for San Antonio.

What to watch for in Game 5
Jalen Brunson has been the defining presence for the Knicks throughout this series, and his ability to perform in San Antonio will be central to whether New York can close things out tonight. The Knicks won both of their road games in Games 1 and 2, which established that they are capable of winning in this environment.
Victor Wembanyama enters Game 5 with something to prove after the collapse in Game 4. He is one flagrant foul from suspension, which adds a layer of discipline-related stakes to how he approaches the physical battles that have defined this series. The Spurs need a complete performance from their franchise player to extend the series.
San Antonio coach Mitch Johnson has acknowledged his team needs to be better in Game 5, a direct response to the fourth-quarter breakdown that cost the Spurs the chance to even the series at home.
