Prime Video’s Off Campus is one of the hottest book-to-screen adaptations this year, and the cast bringing the beloved story to life is one of the most important parts of the show. Elle Kennedy’s series has been lurking around Booktok for a good while and a story is only as strong as the actors carrying it, and this particular cast, a mix of rising stars and seasoned faces, has a lot going on beneath the surface. Here’s everything you need to know about who plays who.
Ella Bright leads Off Campus Season 1 as Hannah Wells
Hannah Wells is the heart of Off Campus season one. A music major at Briar University, she carries a massive crush on a guy named Justin, and she ends up making a deal with the campus hockey star, Garrett Graham, to help her get his attention. In exchange, she agrees to tutor Garrett so he can keep his grades up and stay on the team.
Ella Bright, who plays her, is 19 years old and British. She spent most of her teenage years on the CBBC series Malory Towers, starting the show at 12 and wrapping it at 18. Her performance there earned her Children’s BAFTA and Emmy nominations. She also appeared briefly in The Crown as a young Kate Middleton and made her West End debut at 10 in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham
Garrett Graham is the golden boy of Briar University’s hockey team. Star forward, big dreams of going pro, but his grades are quietly imploding. He needs a tutor fast and his dynamic with Hannah starts as transactional and turns into something neither of them signed up for.
Belmont Cameli is 28 and has been acting since a 2018 guest spot on Empire. He’s probably best known for playing Jamie Spano in the Saved by the Bell reboot and also played Eli in Netflix’s Along for the Ride.
Josh Heuston as Justin Kohl
Justin is Hannah’s long-term crush, and is the reason the whole fake-dating plan gets set in motion in the first place. In Off Campus, he’s been reimagined as the frontman of a rock band rather than a football player, which actually makes the music-focused storyline land better.
Josh Heuston is known for his role in Netflix’s Heartbreak High, the reboot of the Australian classic. He’s also appeared in Dune: Prophecy and Dive Club.
Mika Abdalla as Allie Hayes
Allie Hayes is Hannah’s best friend and, in many ways, the emotional anchor of the friend group in Off Campus. In the book version of Off Campus, Allie eventually gets her own love story in The Score with Dean Di Laurentis. Season one sets that up quietly in the background.
Mika Abdalla is 26 and is known for playing the lead in Netflix’s children’s spy series Project MC2, and has since appeared in The Flash on The CW, Hulu’s Sex Appeal, season one of The Pitt, and Suits: LA.
Antonio Cipriano as John Logan
Logan is one of Garrett’s housemates and best friends on the hockey team. He’s easy-going and loyal in season one, but anyone who’s read Off Campus knows he carries more weight than he lets on. We see his story in The Mistake and Off Campus Season 1 has already laid groundwork for that, and with India Fowler cast as Grace Ivers for season two, his arc is about to get a lot more interesting.
Antonio Cipriano made his Broadway debut at 19 in Jagged Little Pill, and followed the Broadway run with a series regular role in Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History and appeared in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.
Stephen Kalyn as Dean Di Laurentis
Dean is the charmer of the group. Rich, a little arrogant, and fully aware of his reputation as someone who doesn’t do relationships. He’s been aged up to senior year for Off Campus, which means his storyline with Allie may surface sooner than Off Campus readers expect.
Stephen Kalyn is 28 and actually grew up playing hockey, making him the only genuine ice veteran in the core four. Beyond his on-ice credentials, he had a recurring role on Amazon’s Cruel Intentions reboot and appeared in Gen V, Prime Video’s The Boys spinoff.
Jalen Thomas Brooks as John Tucker
Tucker is the warm one who cooks for the house and somehow manages to be the emotional glue of the Briar U hockey crew without ever being sentimental about it. His story will be shown in The Goal, the fourth in Kennedy’s series, where he falls for Sabrina James.
Jalen Thomas Brooks played a recurring role as nurse Mateo Diaz in HBO’s The Pitt, appearing across all of the show’s first season. Before that, he had roles in Walker and Animal Kingdom.
Steve Howey as Phil Graham
Phil Graham is Garrett’s father, a former NHL player who built his whole identity around hockey and now projects that same weight onto his son.
Steve Howey is 48, from Texas, and fans of the long-running sitcom Reba know him as Van Montgomery, a role he played for years. He’s also known for a long run on Shameless as Kevin. More recently he showed up in High Potential on ABC.
Khobe Clarke as Beau Maxwell
Beau Maxwell is Briar University’s star quarterback and one of Dean’s closest friends in Off Campus Season 1.
Clarke is a Canadian actor who has appeared in Firefly Lane, Yellowjackets, and VC Andrews’ Dawn. He also shows up in Prime Video’s Cruel Intentions reboot alongside Stephen Kalyn.
