7 alarming claims against his ex

A North Carolina judge has granted Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges a temporary restraining order against his ex, Mychelle Johnson, after he filed court documents describing a series of escalating and serious allegations tied to a specific incident at a Hornets home game.

What the court ordered

The judge’s order requires Johnson to remain at least 500 yards away from Bridges at all times, including from his residence and the Hornets’ practice and game facilities. She is also prohibited from harassing Bridges or his current girlfriend, Shara, and from engaging in any form of cyberstalking directed at either of them. The restraining order is temporary, and a further court hearing will determine whether it is extended or modified.

Johnson has not publicly responded to the allegations or to the order.

The 7 allegations Bridges made in court

Bridges’ court filing contained a detailed account of the incidents he says drove him to seek legal protection. The key allegations outlined in the documents are as follows.

1. Johnson allegedly left their 4 shared children with a nanny and drove to the Spectrum Center while intoxicated during a Hornets game, rather than remaining with the children.
2. She allegedly rented a room at a hotel near the arena and used it as a base during the incident.
3. She allegedly positioned an accomplice in the hotel lobby as part of her activity that evening.
4. She allegedly concealed herself behind Bridges’ parked vehicle in the arena garage and attempted to tamper with its tires while he was on the court. Bridges said his girlfriend and children had been inside the arena that evening and had ridden in that same vehicle, and that Johnson was aware of this fact.
5. In the days following the arena incident, she allegedly created a fake phone number and used it to send Bridges a message containing his home address, which he described as a deliberate attempt to frighten him.
6. She allegedly contacted his attorney while impersonating another woman who claimed to be pregnant by Bridges. His legal team, initially believing the claim to be genuine, arranged a paternity test before determining the story was fabricated.
7. She also allegedly threatened to publicly release private photographs of Bridges, which he characterized as an effort to intimidate him.

Bridges described the overall pattern of behavior in his court filings as a sustained and deliberate effort to threaten and destabilize him and the people closest to him. He also alleged that Johnson has told their shared children they will not be allowed to attend his games because his girlfriend will be present, and that she tells them he does not want to see them, a claim he strongly denies.

What both sides say

Bridges has made clear in his filings that he views the situation as having extended well beyond a personal disagreement into conduct that placed him and others around him at genuine risk. He is not claiming any financial loss in connection with the events described.

Johnson has not addressed any of the allegations through public statements or legal filings as of Thursday.

Where things stand

The restraining order remains temporary pending further court review. A subsequent hearing will determine whether the protections it provides are extended into a more permanent arrangement or modified based on what both sides present.

Away from the legal proceedings, Bridges remains one of the most established figures in the Hornets organization. He was drafted in 2018, has stayed through multiple roster rebuilds and coaching changes, and currently sits third on the franchise’s all-time scoring list.
