After The Pussycat Dolls canceled almost every event on the North American leg of their eagerly awaited PCD Forever Tour, Nicole Scherzinger is allegedly feeling “disappointed.” The reunion was the pop group’s biggest tour announcement in more than 15 years, but poor ticket sales ultimately led to the cancellation of 32 performances in the United States and Canada.
After “taking an honest look” at ticket sales, The Pussycat Dolls reportedly made the decision to cancel most of the North American leg. The remaining American performances were canceled, but one U.S. appearance at the OutLoud Music Festival during WeHo Pride in West Hollywood on June 6 is still planned.
According to a source, Scherzinger wanted to go out there and perform with Ashley and Kimberly, but is now upset, as they might not get the chance anymore. They told US Weekly:
“Nicole is disappointed. She was really excited to get back out there with Ashley [Roberts] and Kimberly [Wyatt] to celebrate a new era, but now she feels they didn’t get a chance to showcase what they can do.”
Insiders claim low ticket sale
The reunion tour may have been “too ambitious” from the beginning, according to insiders. Despite just releasing one new song, Club Song, prior to the comeback, the group reportedly tried to make a comeback after more than 15 years away from touring by booking large arenas, one that included Madison Square Garden. The insider claims that “they overestimated the demand.”
The source revealed:
“They went from not touring for over 15 years to booking big arenas like Madison Square Garden with only one new song to back it. They overestimated the demand.”
According to the seating maps, a large section of seats remained unsold. Its screenshots started circulating online, and fans started to speculate about a potential cancelation. Additionally, reports indicated that the choice to perform in large venues rather than smaller stadiums and the high cost of tickets may have had an adverse impact on sales.
The cancelation coincides with a wider trend of musicians allegedly having trouble selling tickets in 2026. Artists including Meghan Trainor, Zayn Malik, and Post Malone were mentioned in reports; all of them have recently canceled or rescheduled tour dates. Page Six even referred to the unfilled blue seats on Ticketmaster venue maps as “Blue Dot Fever.”
Nicole Scherzinger is reportedly trying to stay positive
Nicole Scherzinger is reportedly concentrating on the remaining overseas dates, which are still planned for later this year, despite the setback. The insider claims that Scherzinger is “trying to look on the bright side” because ticket sales for the dates in the UK and Europe have apparently been much higher, with some shows already sold out. The insider said:
“Nicole is trying to look on the bright side because the Dolls are still proceeding with their European dates, which she’s beyond excited about, but it’s hard not to feel defeated.”
Before beginning the European leg in September, the singer recently shared practice footage with The Pussycat Dolls’ Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt in preparation for their upcoming Pride festival show.
This is not the first time that Nicole has had to face disappointments in her musical career. Back in 2007, she had to shelve her solo album Her Name Is Nicole and then in 2020, the postponement of The Pussycat Dolls’ scheduled reunion tour. The source added:
“She’s been through this before. Her solo album Her Name Is Nicole was shelved [in 2007], the Dolls also had to cancel their last reunion tour [in 2020] and she has a ton of other music that she never got to put out. It’s been a tough road for Nicole despite her other successes, but she’s grateful for the continuous love from across the pond.”
The Pussycat Dolls reunion sparked controversy
After only three members of The Pussycat Dolls, Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, and Kimberly Wyatt, were revealed as part of the comeback lineup, the reunion itself caused a huge debate among loyal fans.
Carmit Bachar, a former member, publicly claimed that she was never approached regarding the reunion and that she “would have appreciated direct communication.” She revealed:
“I was not contacted regarding the group’s decision to move forward, and I learned of these plans at the same time as the public. Given my history with the brand, having been part of its foundation long before its commercial debut and instrumental in the connections that led to the record deal… I would have appreciated direct communication.”
Meanwhile, another former member of The Pussycat Dolls, Jessica Sutta, also openly discussed her absence, stating on the Maverick Approach podcast that her affiliation with MAGA politics and support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. might have contributed to her rejection from the reunion lineup:
“I align with Bobby Kennedy, which is aligning with MAGA.”
The Pussycat Dolls stated that all planned shows in the United Kingdom and Europe are still going on, despite the cancellation of the North American leg. According to current plans, the tour will start in Copenhagen in September and end in London’s O2 Arena in October.
According to the returning members of The Pussycat Dolls, they are “putting everything into making this show a true celebration of the music and the memories” for both new and longtime fans. The source went on to tease:
“Nicole is hopeful the Dolls can figure out something else in the U.S. after people see the show they’re putting together for Europe, which is going to be very special.”
