Actress-singer Taryn Manning recently had an explosive fight with her personal assistant and makeup artist, Holly Hartman, which was recorded live by the latter. The now-viral video was first uploaded by TMZ and shows the Orange Is the New Black alum verbally abusing Hartman, before things turned physical.
At one point, Taryn Manning, who has an estimated net worth of $500,000, stated:
“Look what you have done to my f**king studio!”
A few moments later, she also threatened to call the cops, to which Holly responds:
“Call the police. I’ll show them you just attacked me.”
As the video cut off, Manning, 47, was recorded kicking a bag towards Hartman while also lunging at her.
This is not the first time the duo has made the headlines. Holly Hartman, who is Taryn Manning’s alleged girlfriend and roommate, also accused her of assault and strangulation in an October 2012 domestic violence case. Back then, the Sons of Anarchy alum was arrested and spent the night in jail. The misdemeanor charges were later dropped when Holly refused to take the matter forward.
Likewise, in 2015, Hartman tried to get a restraining order against Manning after the latter allegedly attacked the former in New York City. However, Taryn’s lawyers later denied the allegations, describing them as “fabricated,” and claiming their client had “no contact” with the makeup artist for months. Instead, it was Ms Hartman who was under investigation for multiple crimes.
Here’s taking a look at Taryn Manning’s fortune
Taryn Manning was born in Falls Church, Virginia, to musicians Sharon and Bill Manning. When she was two months old, her parents divorced, and her mother moved Taryn and her older brother Kellin to a trailer park in Tucson, Arizona.
Despite humble beginnings, Manning was able to pursue dance, karate, and acting lessons alongside her education. At 12, her family relocated to Encinitas, California, where she attended Orange County High School for the Arts.
At 20, Taryn Manning made her screen debut in the movie Speedway Junky, although she was uncredited. Later, she had passing roles on the TV movies, Come On, Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story and The Practice.
Her breakthrough came with a recurrent role as Rebecca Peabody on the Fox television drama, Get Real. Subsequently, she also appeared in various feature films, including Crossroads (2002) with Britney Spears, 8 Mile (2002) with Eminem, as Nola in Hustle & Flow (2005), and a double role as Ivy Chitty/ Ellie Laird on Drive (2007).
Taryn Manning became a fan-favorite as Cherry on Sons of Anarchy between 2008 and 2010. However, she is best known for playing Tiffany Doggett, aka Pennsatucky, on Orange Is the New Black for seven seasons (2013-2019).
While on the show, Manning continued to appear on the big screen occasionally, with projects such as Low Down (2014), A Winter Rose (2016), and Swing State (2017).
Taryn Manning also has a long-spanning music career. In 2001, she unsuccessfully auditioned for the WB reality series Popstar.
Two years later, she formed the duo, Boomkat, with her brother. The duo released their debut album Boomkatalog. One in 2003 under the DreamWorks Records label. The follow-up album, titled A Million Trillion Stars, was first released independently online in 2008. A year later, Little Vanilla Records re-released it.
Taryn also released a solo album in 2012 called Freedom City, followed by several singles such as So Talented, Spotlight, Roaming Unicorn, and Time Wasted. In fact, the first two were used in the TV shows, Melrose Place and Hawaii Five-0, respectively.
Taryn Manning is also a fashion designer/ entrepreneur who launched the apparel line Born Uniqorn in 2005 with her close friend Tara Jane.
Holly Hartman isn’t the only person to have accused Taryn Manning of erratic behavior. In November 2014, her ex-girlfriend/ roommate, Jeanine Heller, accused the actress of threatening to kill her and violating her restraining order. She was arrested and later released.
In 2016, Taryn Manning spent a couple of days in a psychiatric facility after having a psychotic breakdown under the influence of alcohol on the sets of OITNB. However, she later denied her substance abuse allegations.
In 2023, she triggered fan concern after her online rant about having an affair with a married man went viral. Manning later apologized for the same. Later that year, she told The Hollywood Reporter that despite all the controversies, she was confident of being on the “precipice of something good.”
