We finally have the first look at the new wand of Hermione Granger from Harry Potter

The first official glimpse of Hermione Granger’s wand design from HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series has arrived, and it’s our first glimpse into one of the most powerful wands in the series. The wand appeared in the Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic trailer, HBO’s behind-the-scenes special that aired on HBO Max and revealed an inside look at the creation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, premiering Christmas 2026.

Played by newcomer Arabella Stanton, Hermione’s wand represents one of the most iconic magical instruments in the wizarding world. In J.K. Rowling’s books, Hermione’s wand is crafted from vine wood with a dragon heartstring core, measuring 10 and three-quarters inches. Throughout the novels, it’s an important wand because it carries Hermione’s magical strength as one of the strongest witches in the wizarding world.

Her wand is the first to master the Levitation Charm in Charms class, setting the tone for Hermione’s academic dominance. During the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, Neville borrows it after his broke, using it to jab Walden Macnair in the eye and save Harry’s life. The wand helped infiltrate the Ministry to steal Slytherin’s locket from Umbridge, it produced a corporeal Patronus of an otter, at just sixteen, one of the most advanced spells imaginable. It defended Harry from Nagini in Godric’s Hollow, and then was used by Harry for some time while his broke. It’s a wand that shaped a lot of the Second Wizarding War, and with all the magical things it has done in the books, hopefully a lot of it will also make it’s way to the screen.
