Victor inadvertently caused Malcolm’s death

Soaps like The Young and the Restless are all about intertwining storylines that bring various characters together, or tear them apart! Victor recently kept Lily and her twins, Matt and Charlie, as his guests to pull one over on Cane. But what if doing that prevented Malcolm from getting a life-saving bone marrow match, causing his demise?

What if Mattie and Charlie are a match for Malcolm on The Young and the Restless

We’ve learned that Lily (Christel Khalil) isn’t a match for her father, Malcolm (Shemar Moore), who has aplastic anemia and needs a marrow transfer from a blood relative to stay alive.

His only other option is his newfound son Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), whose mother is Malcolm’s ex-girlfriend and also Malcolm’s doctor, Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica Fox). Stephanie rushed through the reveal of Holden’s paternity because time is of the essence due to Malcolm’s condition. (Plus, Moore and Fox are only back for limited runs!).

We’re hoping that Holden is a match, and Malcolm goes into remission. The story has not only welcomed back two fan favorites and tapped into the show’s history, but it will also ensconce Nathan into the Winters clan. He might even change his name to Holden Novak Winters.

And we get the feeling that Holden’s employment problems might disappear if Lily (Christel Khalil) and Devon (Bryton James) offer their new brother a job at Winters, Inc.

Holding on for a hero other than Holden

But what if Holden ends up not being a match? What if Malcolm’s only other living relatives — his grandchildren, Mattie and Charlie — were matches? And what if Victor (Eric Braeden) was still keeping them as his “guests,” preventing them from giving support to their granddad when he needs it the most?

Now, Victor, of course, was great pals with Malcolm’s brother, Neil (the late, great Kristoff St. John), so he’d definitely want to help Malcolm. But what if Victor were incapacitated and couldn’t get to Charlie and Mattie? Or what if Malcolm and his family kept his condition a secret so that Victor wouldn’t even know that Malcolm needed Charlie and Mattie?

This worst case scenario could take an even greater tragic turn if Malcolm didn’t make it. Then, all hell would break loose. The Abbotts and Phyllis Summers wouldn’t be the only people warring with Victor Newman.

You killed my father!

Lily, with help from Devon and Nate, would go after Victor Newman with a venegeance! Lily would use the full force of Winters, Inc. to go after the mogul. She would employ the company’s resources to destory Victor.

One reason Victor always wins is because he is feuled by the tragedy of his childhood where his mother, Cora Miller (Dorothy McGuire), was forced to leave Christian Miller, her son, at an orphanage on Christmas Eve. That little boy grew up determined to become so powerful that no one could ever hurt him again. That’s how Victor Newman was born!

Imagine Lily facing a similar tragedy if her biological father were to pass away because of the games Victor was playing! Of course, Lily might feel guilty as she once allied herself with the mogul.

But if Lily mostly blamed Victor, she would not rest until he paid. Lily would likely use Winters, Inc. resources to launch her own media company so that she could control the narrative in the media about what Victor did.

If Lily and enough folks in Genoa City were mad enough at Victor then one of those people make try to take him out!

Hopefully, none of this will come to pass. We haven’t seen Charlie and Mattie since Lily returned but just as she’s safe, there’s ever reason to believe that they are, too.

Will Holden be a match for his father? We’re guessing that the answer to that is yes. Othewise, we would be seeing Mattie and Charlie back in Genoa City. As of now, we haven’t heard that they’re coming onto the scene again, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t be home at some piont.

Everyone involved in the AI storyline has been playing games with people’s lives. Everyone wants what they want and for the most part, they’re all willing to do whatever it takes to get it. It’s a miracle that no one has paid the ultimate price as players are using AI technology to wreck havoc with people’s lives.

What if that were to happen and Malcolm or someone else were to pay the ultimate price? And why? Because Cane wanted to win Lily back? Because Phyllis wanted to show everyone in town she deserved respect? Because Jack helped Nikki hang onto her sobriety and Victor didn’t like it?

What’s truly important in life is family. Now, Malcolm and Holden have found each other. If Malcolm lives, and we’re hoping he does, of course, he and Holden will be able to forge a father and son bond!
