FIVE skiers have tragically died after being caught in two avalanches in the Austrian Alps.
The snow-slides hit a group of seven off-piste skiers, in the Pongau area near Salzburg, injuring four skiers and leaving one with serious injuries.
Another skier perished in a similar avalanche in the same area earlier in the day.
