Tori Spelling breaks silence after car crash that left her kids and their friends hospitalized

Following a horrific vehicle accident in California that left her, her kids, and their friends in the hospital, Tori Spelling has spoken out. The incident took place just a few days before Easter, and quickly made the news after reports confirmed that multiple people were hospitalized after the crash. Speaking about the incident, she said:

“Guardian angels were definitely with us that day.”

The incident took place on April 2, 2026, in Temecula, California, when deputies responded to a collision between two vehicles, according to the authorities. Spelling subsequently disclosed that at the time of the event, she was operating one of the vehicles with four of her children and three of their friends inside.

As the actress shared the video on social media, she claimed that the other driver was “speeding” and “went through a light” before hitting her car. She said:

“Hi, I just wanted to reach out to everyone. This took me a bit to post, because as most of you know, four of my kids and I and three of their friends were in a car accident a few days before Easter in Temecula. And we’re OK, but it’s been really overwhelming. We are so grateful and so lucky because it could have been so much worse.”

Tori Spelling continued as she informed that she tried to protect everyone inside as she realized what was happening at the moment:

“Guardian angels were definitely with us that day because in a split second I looked and saw he was going to full on impact into the side of our car. And I turned hard left as hard as I could, as fast as I could, to avoid as much impact on the children as possible. He spun us out.”

Her quick decision to save people’s lives inside the car might have caused the car to spin, but it helped prevent more serious injuries.

Who was injured in the accident?

Following the accident, seven of the children, along with Tori Spelling, were evaluated on the spot and then later taken to the nearby hospitals separately. According to reports received, the kids’ injuries were not life-threatening, but they included cuts, bruises, contusions, and perhaps concussions.

Tori added that they were all doing okay, but the children are still a bit shaken by what happened. As of now, no arrests have been made at the scene. All the people involved in the crash received medical care. The Riverside Sheriff’s Department released a statement:

“On April 2, 2026, at 5:44 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 28000 block of Rancho California Road regarding a vehicle collision. Upon arrival, deputies located two vehicles with collision damage. All occupants were medically evaluated at the scene.”

Tori Spelling thanks first responders and supporters

In her statement, Tori Spelling thanked and expressed her gratitude to “all the first responders” who “took such good care of the kids” at the scene, as well as to those who have reached out to her since the incident. She wrote:

“Thank you, everybody. Still putting my thoughts together about everything that happened and just so much gratitude for life and the bravery for all the kids in the car for what they went through. So thank you to everyone.”

Spelling went on to add:

“Grateful to all the first responders, to everyone that has reached out and checked on us, to all of you and your prayers, and to our guardian angels ✨♥️.”

This isn’t the first time that Tori Spelling has got into an accident with her kids inside. Back in 2011, while trying to get away from the paparazzi, she crashed her car into a wall. The photographer continued taking photos of a pregnant Spelling and her two kids until he was chased away by a group of moms.

Tori Spelling’s quick reaction behind the wheel saved their lives. The incident remains traumatic and eye-opening for the actress.

Tori Spelling has five kids with her ex-husband, Dean McDermott: Liam, who is 19 years old, the second oldest, Stella, who is 17, followed by Hattie, who is 14 years old, Finn, who is just 13 years old, and finally the youngest, Beau, who is 9 years old. The kids also have a half-sibling, Jack, who is 25 years old, that McDermott shares with his ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace.

Although it is still unknown which kids were inside the car when the collision took place.
