The Boys Season 5’s Erin Moriarty and Karen Fukuhara talk about their characters and the “insane” finale of the Prime Video series

The Boys Season 5 will be the last chapter of the popular superhero series created by Eric Kripke. It is based on comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and features acclaimed stars like Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Antony Starr as Homelander, Jack Quaid as Hughie and Erin Moriarty as Starlight.

Season 5 is just a few days away, scheduled to release on April 8 on Prime Video. Ahead of the premiere, cast members Erin Moriarty and Karen Fukuhara shed light on the finale, and their saying it is “insane” suggests that something unexpected is on the way.

Fukuhara said:

“I remember thinking, I was reading the script and I was wondering how they were going to pack all of that in — “How will we ever find the time to pack it into one episode?” — and they did it.”

The finale is expected to be a climax where everything comes together. The upcoming chapter takes place in a much darker version of America, where Homelander has basically taken control.

The Boys Season 5 cast members hint at “insane” finale episode

The Boys Season 5 is fast approaching and fans are preparing to witness more chaos, power control and Starlight becoming a key leader of the resistance against Homelander’s system in which going against can put people in detention camps.

At the same time, Billy Butcher returns in a much more extreme state. He is willing to go to any length to stop Homelander, including using a deadly virus designed to kill all superheroes. The problem is, this weapon could also kill him.

So, Season 5 is going to be intense and something fans didn’t see coming. During an interview, Karen Fukuhara explained that the script had so much that she wondered if this will fit into one episode.

At the same time, the characters in The Boys Season 5 have developed so much that they’re willing to risk everything to set things right, especially dethroning Homelander. Fukuhara shed light on her character’s journey and said:

“For Kimiko, you’ll find a new side to her where she’s able to connect with some of the other characters that she wasn’t able to in the past because of her inability to speak, and that creates a different dynamic between her and Frenchie, as well. So, stay tuned for that.”

Erin Moriarty was also present during the interview and explained that Starlight’s story focuses on facing her past trauma properly instead of avoiding it. The actress said:

“Just for Starlight’s journey, I would say that it’s going to be surprising in a way that’s not arbitrary, but earned, and I think it’s really cool and hard to achieve that.”

She continued:

“The coping mechanisms that she’s utilized to try and deal with the trauma that she’s been through have been plenty, but this new season is getting involved in a new coping mechanism to try and deal with the trauma that she’s been through…”

In The Boys Season 5, Starlight will not only resist these new and unfair rules of Homelander, but she will also discover herself in new ways. Additionally, this chapter is closely connected to Gen V, especially because of the virus storyline and Vought’s secrets.

So, don’t miss out on The Boys Season 5 on April 8, 2026 only on Amazon Prime Video.
