Here is your General Hospital recap for Monday, April 6, 2026 featuring Sonny and Sidwell’s funeral face off, and Danny learning more details about his father’s disappearance.
What happened on General Hospital

Sidwell immediately questioned how far Sonny felt like he could push him. Ric encouraged Sidwell to walk back his comments, but Sonny cut him off. He didn’t view it as a threat. Instead, he recognized the tone as that of a grieving father, something he was all too familiar with.
Sonny wanted to look Sidwell in the eye and swear he had nothing to do with Marco’s killing. Sidwell didn’t think he should ever take Sonny’s word for it. He had more motive than anyone to take out Sidwell’s son. Sidwell told Sonny, “You have gotten away with far too much for far too long, but no more.”
Sonny opened up about Morgan’s murder and how well he understood the desire to avenge his son’s death. He said Sidwell was allowing the real killer to get away with it by zeroing in on him. Sidwell recalled that Sonny had previously used Marco to reach him, and he believed this was another example of it.
Sidwell thought Sonny may have retaliated against the blackmail of him and Laura by killing Marco. He didn’t buy anything Sonny was selling to him about having nothing to do with the murder. Sidwell was entirely convinced that the vicious stabbing was Sonny sending a message to his enemy.
Ric intervened and pointed out that while the stabbing was indeed a message to Sidwell, it made it even more obvious that Sonny wasn’t the culprit. Sidwell had the power to send Sonny (and Laura) to prison, and Ric explained that his brother would never risk that by carelessly eliminating Marco.
Sonny pleaded with Sidwell to stop thinking that he was the one behind the attack. He had an unknown enemy lurking in the shadows, which was the most terrifying reality. Sonny and Ric left the church after delivering that, and Sidwell turned and looked to the portrait of his son, conflicted about how to handle it all.
Sidwell completely lost it after Sonny left the church. He couldn’t fathom that Sonny would ever stand there and claim to have not had Marco killed. Sidwell declared that he would bring Sonny to agony, and even though it wouldn’t bring Marco back, it would “even the score.”

Justine told Jordan that she had been shut down earlier that morning by the WSB and their attorneys. Jordan spilled to Justine about how tense things got at Marco’s funeral because of Sonny and Ric crashing the service. Justine was stunned to learn that Sonny had visited the funeral. Jordan thought it was best that Sonny didn’t speak to Sidwell, since he considered Sonny the prime suspect.
Jordan told Justine about Sidwell being on the wartpath to get revenge for his son’s murder. Justine wanted Jordan to speak directly to Sidwell and get through to him that there was no chance Sonny was responsible for Marco’s stabbing. Jordan was a bit taken aback that Justine was so convinced of Sonny’s innocence.
Justine quickly assured Jordan that there were no personal reasons for her belief that Sonny didn’t commit the crime. She asked Jordan if she thought Sonny would ever start a random war with Sidwell like this. Jordan didn’t think that was the case at all, and she hoped she could get Sidwell to see it, too.

Danny showed up at Crimson to visit Charlotte, and she asked how he was doing after getting suspended from school. Jacinda came out into the lobby and pointed out how cute the pair looked together. She didn’t have an issue with Danny visiting, but once they got caught up, she asked Charlotte for help with an important task.
Charlotte asked Danny why he let the other kid at school get under his skin. He reminded her that she knew better than anyone what it was that to get into tiffs over her father. Danny wanted to make whoever took away his father’s path pay for their actions.
Jacinda listened from the other side of the door as Danny discussed his desire to make the WSB pay for Jason’s disappearance. Charlotte wanted Danny to take a breath before he got himself in over his head. Valentin was as talented as they come, and he was still hiding out from the WSB.
Jacinda returned to Charlotte after Danny left and asked whether she was ready to return to work. She was much closer to getting what Jack needed from her, and Charlotte had no idea that she was being played. Jacinda tried to get information out of Charlotte about her father, but she hit a wall when Charlotte said she had no idea where he was.
Sonny returned home and found Danny at his doorstep. He wanted to speak with him about his father, and Ric promised Danny that he was trying his best to bring Jason home. Danny demanded that they all make the WSB pay, and he was tired of waiting for the law to come to his side. He was prepared to go to any means necessary to save his father.
Sonny refused to let Danny into any aspect of the business. However, Danny remained outside of Sonny’s home, hiding in the bushes, and he got an earful. He learned that Sidwell was somehow responsible for what happened to Jason. Sonny would be left vulnerable without his enforcer, and Ric was certain that Sidwell planned to come at him with everything.

Stella visited Portia at her office and surprised her with her favorite glazed donut. She wanted the entire family to get on board with decorating Portia’s nursery as a family. Portia was apprehensive about the idea and instead suggested they all decorate the one at Curtis and Jordan’s apartment instead. However, Stella said, “That’s exactly what I’m trying to avoid.”
Stella thought that working on Portia’s nursery together would be best for the entire family. Since the baby would be growing up in two different households, Stella wished for them to be connected in some capacity. Her plan was to unite every generation of Ashfords to unite together and create a harmonious future. Stella’s words moved Portia enough to ultimately agree to the plan.

Trina and Kai were summoned to Curtis’s apartment, and they couldn’t figure out why Aunt Stella requested their presence. Curtis appeared not to have any sort of inkling either. Curtis questioned the urgency of Stella’s request, but nobody could put their finger on what she wanted.
Trina told Curtis that she planned to sing at the reopening of Charlie’s. Curtis wondered why Trina didn’t want to tell him that, and he wanted to be there front and center for her big performance. However, Trina informed him that he could not come. She didn’t want the pressure of her father being there.
Stella returned to Curtis’ place and told them all they’d be decorating the nursery as a family. Curtis shocked everyone by thinking it was one of his aunt’s best ideas ever.

Michael didn’t know Willow was waiting for him, and he apologized. Willow said she was there to meet with Brook Lynn and Chase, and it had nothing to do with him. Michael appreciated Willow’s willingness to help them achieve their goal of caring for the child.
Michael wondered whether Nina had told Willow that he had stopped by her house. She knew that he had made a visit, but she didn’t know his reasons for dropping by. Michael wanted to speak with Willow about Kai. He revealed that he pitched the idea of Kai coaching Wiley, and he wanted to run it by Willow.
Willow was fine with the idea of extra coaching, as long as Wiley was not feeling too much pressure. Michael had no problems ending the extra coaching if it was too much for their son to handle. However, he believed that Kai was a great coach and could provide Wiley with the tools he needed.

Brook Lynn and Chase joined Willow in the living room to discuss the foster case situation while Michael took off. Willow confirmed that she spoke to the head of the agency, and the social worker confirmed that she had developed a strong opinion of the couple.
Willow confirmed that the biggest red flag facing them was their desire to foster this specific child. Although Willow assured the social worker that they knew it was temporary, she wanted confirmation for herself. Willow confirmed that they had been approved to foster Phoebe and that once she was released from the hospital, it would be final. Before leaving, Willow asked Chase if Kai’s name ever came up in the shooting investigation.
