Nancy Guthrie's Abductor Allegedly Used Her Flower Pots To Open Back Gate, 'He Took Her Beautiful..'

Famous journalist and Today Show host Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie, has been in the headlines ever since news of her disappearance. She was last spotted on January 31, 2026, at her home, and the investigation is still ongoing. While no trace of Nancy Guthrie has been found, many theories are making the rounds.

Did Nancy Guthrie’s abductor use flower pots to open the doors of her home?

As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues, broadcaster and podcaster Ashleigh Banfield shared a few details from her findings. Banfield was told by a source that Nancy’s abductor allegedly used flower pots to prop open two rear doors and a back gate of her Tucson home. Banfield, on her Drop Dead Serious programme, shared that Savannah Guthrie had already revealed that two back doors of the house were ‘propped open’.

In the programme, Banfield also shared that a high-level source told her the security cameras and lights at the home had been smashed too. Though these claims are made by Banfield’s sources, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department or the FBI have not confirmed any of the information. Speaking about the same, Banfield shared:

“He took her beautiful flower pots that I can only imagine she spent time nurturing and making beautiful for her back patio, and he used them for his evil plot. But he did. My sources say that’s where he got his entry. But that’s not the only thing that he did. He also took Nancy’s beautiful flower pots, and he propped open the back gate.”

Savannah Guthrie recently sat for an interview with Hoda Kotb in which she spoke about her mother, Nancy’s kidnapping and spoke about the agony she and her family underwent. She urged people to come forward and speak up, as it was unbearable for her to deal with. Savannah was seen sobbing in the middle of the interview as she said:

“Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony. We are in agony. It is unbearable. And to think of what she went through, I wake up every night, in the middle of the night, every night, and in the darkness, I imagine her terror and it is unthinkable. She needs to come home, now.”

In the same interview, Savannah described that when she found her mother was missing, she felt guilt for being a possible reason behind the same. Savannah explained that her brother, Cameron, and many others believe Nancy was targeted because of her fame, which has made her feel guilty.
