Paul Verhoeven’s classic sci-fi action film Starship Troopers featured popular NCIS star Dina Meyer in one of the key roles years before the hit CBS procedural aired. Meyer made her NCIS debut in the seventh season, playing the role of a woman named Holly Snow.
Though she had limited on-screen appearances, Dina Meyer left a huge impact on the story during one of the most intense interrogation sequences. Only true fans of the Mark Harmon show would remember such an iconic star’s part whose 1997 cult film is also something that resonates among viewers to this day. Dina Meyer’s appearance in NCIS as Holly Snow would almost pass unnoticed if you are not a true fan of the procedural
Dina Meyer made her first NCIS appearance on the 13th episode of Season 7 titled “Jet Lag”. Her character Holly Snow is portrayed as the owner of an escort agency who is brought in for questioning in connection to Marine’s alleged murder.
It is at this point we see Holly Snow coming face-to-face with Mark Harmon’s iconic Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, but the former steals the show with her cold presence. She resists the interrogation much better than anyone would expect.
NCIS does not share many details about Snow’s background except the fact that she has no one in her family. She did her graduation from Wellesley College and over the years got lost in debt from student loans and so Snow got into prostitution hoping to earn a lot of money.
When she is brought in by the NCIS for questioning about the Marine’s murder, Holly plays it cool to get rid of suspicion and even offers to help the unit with the investigation. In Season 7 Episode 19 of NCIS titled “Guilty Pleasure”, Holly Snow makes a return and this time, she has the ball in her court.
NCIS seeks help from Holly regarding the murders related a former call girl named Charlotte Cook and she sets up a decoy to trap Charlotte despite having retired from her profession as a madam. In Episode 19, we also see Holly getting into a romantic situation with Gibbs during the investigation but it does not last for obvious reasons.
Holly returns to her original world only to get abducted by Charlotte’s boyfriend Dwight Kasdan for having her got into the business of prostitution. As things escalate, Holly almost gets killed by Dwight but Gibbs makes an entry at the right time and saves her.
