Lady Gaga cancels Montreal show last minute due to respiratory infection

Lady Gaga has canceled her scheduled performance at Montreal’s Centre Bell tonight due to a respiratory infection.

The pop superstar shared the news on her Instagram Story, apologizing to fans and explaining that her condition had worsened despite efforts to rest.

“Hi everyone. I’m so sorry to share that I’m unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show. I’ve been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but it’s gotten worse. My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today and to be honest I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve.”

Touring for her album MAYHEM from 2025, Lady Gaga performed two concerts at Montreal on Apr. 2 and 3. The concerts were “magical” for her, but she was extremely heartbroken to let her fans down as she is not performing tonight.

“I know how deeply disappointing this is. And I truly could not feel worse about letting you down. I’m so sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and support me. Being in Montreal and performing for you on Thursday and Friday was magical and deeply meaningful.”

The Applause hitmaker concluded her heartfelt letter with another apology.

“To everyone who was coming tonight, I’m absolutely heartbroken and so sorry.”

Following Lady Gaga’s announcement, Ticketmaster confirmed that refunds will be available at the point of purchase. No rescheduling plans have been announced.

Lady Gaga to make an appearance in The Devil Wears Prada 2

The Montreal show cancellation comes amid the release of Lady Gaga and Deochii’s collab track, Runway, which plays in the trailer of The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Recalling, Lady Gaga praised Doechii in her previous interview with British Vogue.

“You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That’s Doechii to me. I fell in love with her music and her raw, deeply personal perspective. The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes with this wild mix of audacity and emotional precision – it struck me to the core.”

The much-anticipated sequel to the fashion film features the original leads Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.

Per the logline, the sophomore installment follows Streep’s Miranda Priestly as Runway magazine’s editor-in-chief, who deals with the decline of traditional journalism. She then finds herself facing off against Blunt’s Emily Charlton, her former assistant who is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group.

Priestly also teams up with Hathaway’s Andy Sachs, who is now a successful editor-in-chief of her own digital fashion publishing firm.

In The Devil Wears Prada 2, Lady Gaga is set to make a special appearance, Variety reported. The songstress squeezed in her slots in the anticipated movie amid her Mayhem Ball Tour last year.

The fashion film is scheduled to premiere on May 1.
