Jenny McCarthy is sharing her two cents on rumors that Jim Carrey, her ex, has been “replaced.”
The 53-year-old actress was at the iHeartRadio Music Awards last week when she chatted with People about the viral conspiracy theory. Jenny and Jim dated from 2005 to 2010.
The Masked Singer judge said she had no doubt in her mind that “it was definitely Jim Carrey” at the French awards show that started the online chatter. However, she did note that he looked really happy.

“He looked very happy at that award show. And I was happy for him,” Jenny said. “That’s the first thing I noticed. I said, ‘Oh wow, Jim looks really happy.’”
Jenny was at the show with her husband Donnie Wahlberg, who said, “You know, that’s the part that, sadly, people miss. We’re so obsessed with how he looks that we didn’t consider how happy he looked.”
The rumor started when Jim appeared at the 2026 Cesar Awards to accept an Honorary Prize and people felt that his appearance looked so different than what they were used to that he had to have been a body double or a clone. It didn’t help that a drag artist named Alexis Stone also claimed it was him at the show wearing a prosthetic mask.
The Mask star’s rep and the Cesar Awards’ general delegate both shut down the rumors.
