Internet celebrates as Celine Dion confirms 10-show return at Paris La Défense Arena

For her 58th birthday, Celine Dion has announced that she is back to performing live, and she has scheduled a five-week performance in Paris, marking her first performances since she started facing health challenges.

The renowned singer has announced her comeback on March 30, as she will be performing 10 shows at Paris La Défense Arena this fall. The It’s All Coming Back To Me Now star posted on her Instagram page on Monday to celebrate her birthday with her fans, as well as share with them the exciting news of her comeback.

“Hi everyone, in my career, I’ve recorded a lot of birthday messages but this is the first time I’ve ever recorded one for my own birthday. And wow, it’s been kind of hard keeping it a secret from myself.”

Celine Dion also reassured her fans that she had been fine and that she was ready to perform on stage.

“But I want to let you know that I’m doing great. I’m managing my health, I’m feeling good, I’m singing again. I’ve been doing a little bit of dancing, obviously.”

The Power of Love singer then revealed to her fans that she was “getting the best gift of my life,” and she was thrilled about her upcoming performance.

“I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you, once again in Paris, beginning in September this year. I’m so happy. I’m so ready to do this.”

Shortly after her announcement, social media lit up with excitement, with fans rejoicing at the surprise.

“Welcome back legend!!!! Happy Birthday Celine!!!” one expressed on X/Twitter.

“i mean how many tears can a heart cry for 10 shows in paris tho,” another quipped.

Celine Dion reveals dates of 10 shows in Paris

The My Heart Will Go On singer laid out the details regarding her forthcoming shows in the subsequent uploads, with the dates kicking off in September and continuing into October.

As of writing, Celine Dion’s social media account is teeming with concert posters, featuring her in a black-and-white suit and tie and puffy satin long gown. In one of her posts, she writes:

“Paris, I’m ready!”

Celine Dion’s comeback news comes about four years after she revealed she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, or a rare, progressive neurological disorder characterized by muscle stiffness.

Ahead of her latest announcement, she performed at the base of the Eiffel Tower at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony. She also serenaded the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab fashion show audience in November that year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Now that she’s gearing up for her return to the stage, Celine Dion herself admitted in her announcement that she’s “nervous” yet eager to sing onstage again.

“I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously. Of course, a little nervous, but most of all, I am grateful to all of you. I can’t wait to see you again.”
