In August 2019, Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr made their relationship Instagram-official. After three months of public dating, in November 2019, the NBA legend proposed to his ladylove, Sabrina Parr. Initially, Sabrina was not interested in Lamar due to the endless drama swirling around him. But after spending time with him, Sabrina’s feelings for him changed. At the time, Lamar was in the recovery phase. For the unversed, Lamar had a long history of drug addiction struggles, and in 2015, he suffered a near-fatal overdose. Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr’s seemingly serious relationship came to an end in 2020. Confirming their split, Sabrina took to her Instagram Stories in December 2020 and wrote a heartfelt note. Sabrina mentioned that a year ago, she called off her engagement to Lamar. Her note can be read as:
“A year ago today, I officially walked away from my ex-fiance. I did not tell a soul, not even him; I just left! I knew the more I continued to talk about my unhappiness, the more I would stay comfortable being in it. We were less than a year away from getting married. I was scared, hurt, and unsure of the outcome, but I knew if I stayed, I would never be free.”
Lamar Odom called his romance with Sabrina Parr ‘toxic’
A few days after Sabrina confirmed her split from Lamar, the NBA legend also shared a note on his Instagram Stories. Lamar mentioned that he left Sabrina without notice and returned to home in San Diego, California. The NBA legend stated that when Sabrina realised that he had gone back to his home, she was furious. She called him over 250 times, and also texted him and wanted to fix things between them. In his note, Lamar highlighted that his romance with Sabrina was ‘toxic’. He added that although the split broke his heart, it saved his soul. The note can be read as:
“When she realised I had gone back to my home in San Diego, she was livid. I received over 250 calls and text messages over the course of last December from her wanting to fix us. We were toxic. Independently and collectively. Leaving broke my heart but saved my soul. The relationship was abusive.”
