Fans react to Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe, and Vini Jr. assembling for Lego World Cup commercial

Soccer legends Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Vinicius Jr. teamed up for a Lego ad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In the ad, the four athletes can be seen taking turns adding a piece to the Lego FIFA World Cup Official Trophy set, and then trying to add their own figures on top of the trophy.

In the ad release, Ronaldo said,

“It’s not every day you get to be transformed into a Lego set. I’m incredibly honored to be part of this new lineup of Lego editions, alongside three other incredible players in the sport. I’m looking forward to seeing fans from all over the world discover my story and sporting heritage by building this Lego set, blending football and creativity.”

As the ad went viral, fans wondered how much it would have cost the toy company to cast soccer legends all in one frame. A user (@CujoLima) believed that the ad might be one of the most expensive ad till date,

“This gotta be the most expensive ad ever to get all 4 of them on this”

Another user (@Jakeroemba) applauded the toy company for strategically bridging the gap between old and young audiences,

“Monumental Moment 👏🏽 in Football what a W from Lego for bridging cap Between old and young audience great awerness from them 🤌🏽”

Another user (@mnwrites123) wondered if the ad would generate the toy company than the ad budget.

“Will Lego earn more than it spent on this advertisement ?”

Another user (@movieswithv) implied that the person behind the ad’s idea deserves a raise,

“The two GOATS and their prospective replacement in an ad is genius. Whoever managed to pull this off deserves a raise.”

Another user (@Honestjinora) found it ironic to cast Ronaldo since he has never lifted a FIFA Cup,

“Ronaldo beginning the commercial is so strange cuz I’m prettysure he never won that cup”
