Fans react as leaked behind the scene clip reveals Lego ad for FIFA World Cup didn’t feature real players

Viral LEGO commercial starring soccer legends Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Vinícius Jr., ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup was created with AI. After the ad went viral, fans wondered about LEGO’s ad budget for getting their favorite soccer stars together at one table.

The ad featured the four athletes taking turns adding a piece to the FIFA World Cup Official Trophy Set before adding their own figures on top of the trophy. In the ad release, Ronaldo said,

“It’s not every day you get to be transformed into a Lego set. I’m incredibly honored to be a part of this new lineup of Lego editions, alongside three other incredible players in the sport. I’m looking forward to seeing fans from all over the world discover my story and sporting heritage by building this lego set.

However, a BTS video from the ad commercial is going viral on the internet. The BTS video features people, not the soccer legends, playing out the ad scenes. The BTS video raised eyebrows among the soccer community, supporting claims by many fans who had earlier purported it to be AI.

A user (@orissonline) mentioned that he knew the ad was AI,

“I knew it was Ai when I saw Ronaldo and Messi on the same desk running advert for a toy company.”

Another user (@CodedPromis_) claimed the ad was not believable,

“I just knew Messi and Cr7 can’t be cool together in a room”

Another user (@vuyo_thabethe) wondered who leaked the BTS clips,

“😂😂😂Whoever leaked this has blood on their hands”

Another user (@alexfvrrr) claimed that the toy company wouldn’t have the budget to get all four legends together,

“they probably couldn’t afford to get them all there.”

Another user (@bootiedigger) insinuated that Ronaldo, Messi, and Vinícius should be paid,

“Pay Ronaldo Messi and vini a lil bag to use there face”

LEGO launches FIFA World Cup series

The toy company’s ad featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Vinícius Jr., and Kylian Mbappé was a believable ad. This was because the company had launched its FIFA World Cup series ahead of the tournament, which kicks off on June 11.

The toy company released a Messi set, which is available for pre-order. The Messi set features 958 pieces and can be built in different poses. The Ronaldo set boasts 954 pieces, with the Messi Celebration Set being the priciest of them all, listed for $200 at launch with 1,427 pieces.
