An open casting call is underway for the upcoming television pilot based on Nash Jenkins’ acclaimed debut novel Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos!
The project is being cast by Rapaport/Baldasare, who are searching for an actor to take on the series’ lead role of Foster Dade, the story’s narrator and central figure.
The character is described as:
- Male, 18+ to play 15–16
- Open ethnicity, American accent required
- Foster is a ferocious reader and the child of a bitter divorce. A self-medicating, modern-day Holden Caulfield, he masks his deep need to be liked behind an aloof exterior. While he longs for love and happiness, he worries that life at boarding school will trap him in an elite society that would never fully accept him. As the eponymous lead and narrator, Foster has no idea what lies ahead.
The YA drama will be executive produced by Jenkins, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Bash Doran, Robbie Rogers, and Donald De Line.
