Daredevil: Born Again star Vincent D’Onofrio spoke openly in a recent interview about season 2 of the show.
When the show arrived last year, fans were upset about how the show handled Matt’s closest friends. Season 2 arrived on Disney+ on March 24 of this year.
Foggy Nelson was written out with the character dying. Karen Page spent most of the season in San Francisco. The familiar team of Nelson, Page, and Murdock was gone. While talking about Karen Page, he did not hold back. The showrunner of Daredevil: Born Again recently said,
“There wasn’t even a decision. It was kind of built into Season 1. When I came in and talked to these guys, and ……… And then as we ended Season 1, she returned to Daredevil’s life. She’s there for a reason, now that Kingpin has taken over New York. And she’s ……God, that was built in. That’s been around for a long time.”
The first Daredevil series on Netflix came out in 2015. Since then, Karen Page has changed a lot. Eleven years later, she is tougher and more prepared for fights. Her time with the Daredevil and the Punisher has guided her down that path. The way Frank Castle sees the world may now be shaping how she deals with Matt in this season, too.

What did Sana and Cox say about Karen in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
Sana Amanat, the executive producer of Daredevil: Born Again, shares about Deborah Ann’s character. She says,
“You’ve seen her in so many different forms. And we were excited about continuing to take her further. So her relationship with Matt was important, how they’re affected by Foggy’s loss. It’s so rich with story that we knew she was going to be in there.”
Charlie Cox, the protagonist and hero of the show, says,
“We’ve teased their love for one another, their relationship, for so many seasons. And for one reason or another, it’s never quite managed to work out for them. And in this season, their respite from the world is in each other, and we get to see them being pretty sweet together and quite romantic, and kind of in love. That’s the stakes for them. That’s what they’re risking. That’s what they’ll lose if all this falls apart.”
Cox laughs when the topic turns to Karen and Matt. He is asked about how the two see the crisis in New York City in very different ways. Then, Cox replies,
“Yeah, well, in every great relationship there’s disagreements.”
Cox added,
“She’s more badass in this season than we’ve ever seen her.”
What Vincent D’Onofrio called Karen Page Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
Vincent D’Onofrio, who is playing Wilson Fisk in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, calls Karen a killer. He says,
“Well, I mean, she’s a killer. She may be all those sweet little things that [Cox] said, but she’s also a killer.“
D’Onofrio knows this well because Karen once killed his character’s assistant, James Wesley. That moment left her deeply shaken. The question is whether she has come to believe that killing can sometimes be the answer.
