The rapper’s personal life is a full-time event and the latest episodes did not disappoint.
If there is one thing Blueface has mastered beyond rapping, it is staying in the middle of a storm. This past week delivered two separate situations that had social media locked in. One involved law enforcement shutting down a party in Los Angeles. The other involved his mother, Karlissa Saffold, taking to social media with a series of posts that left the internet with a lot to say.
The party that ended with cops and a goat
On the night of April 7, Blueface was among approximately 200 people gathered at a home on Mecca Avenue in Tarzana, Los Angeles. The event, connected to fellow rapper DDG, drew a crowd large enough that five armed security guards were on site trying to manage the scene. Reports of fights breaking out and possible gang activity prompted a call to the Los Angeles Police Department around 10:40 p.m.
By the time multiple LAPD units arrived, the crowd had already begun to scatter. Among those who fled the scene was a man who had brought a live goat to the party. The animal had become a talking point online even before the police showed up, with video of the unusual guest circulating widely. The whole night ended as chaotically as it began, with everyone including the goat gone before things could escalate further.
Karlissa Saffold brings the noise
While the party drama was still fresh, a separate situation involving Blueface’s mother was unfolding in real time. During a recent livestream, Karlissa called into her son’s session to ask him to promote her book. He agreed but then asked her to apologize to his girlfriend, Nevaeh Akira. Karlissa pushed back, saying she and Nevaeh had already exchanged apologies. Blueface pressed her to do it again, which led her to turn the tables and ask what he intended to apologize for. He responded by saying he had no plans to apologize for a past incident in which he claims she should have handled herself differently.
The back-and-forth did not stay on the stream. Karlissa took to social media with a string of posts that escalated quickly. She called her son a washed-up rapper and directed pointed comments at the women in his life, including Nevaeh. She also issued what many read as a threat, warning that if anyone continued to disrespect her, she would post information damaging enough to shift the entire conversation.
Blueface caught between two worlds
What makes this situation complicated is that Blueface is not entirely without blame in how the tension got here. His history with his mother has played out publicly before, and the dynamic between them has never been simple. He has invited her into his world through his streams and social media presence, which means when things go sideways, the whole internet is watching.
Nevaeh, for her part, made comments during the stream that Karlissa took as disrespectful, which only added fuel to an already burning situation. The two women had previously exchanged words publicly, and this week made clear that the peace between them remains fragile at best.
Social media was divided. Some felt Karlissa had every right to defend herself. Others argued she inserts herself too deeply into her son’s relationships. A third group pointed out that Blueface’s own behavior toward his mother during the stream warranted more criticism than it received.
For now, the family chapter is open. Karlissa has shown she is not backing down, and Blueface has shown he is not changing course. Where that leads next is anyone’s guess.
