In Episode 4 of the Apple TV series, Alex, along with Lily, ended up exposing a secret that could completely change life on Mars, especially for the workers.
What we found out last time was that Helios is planning to replace most of the workers with automation and this decision will affect thousands of people living there on Mars. Episode 5 is expected to deal directly with that fallout.
The official tease already suggests that chaos is coming. And honestly, after that leak made by Alex? It does make a whole lot of sense.

The usual drop time for episodes is 3 a.m. ET and 12 a.m. PT, so depending on where you live, you can either watch the show late at night or early in the morning.
Season 5 continues all what has happened after the asteroid mess, and if you’ve been watching the season so far, you would know that Mars is no longer some small outpost.
Happy Valley has turned into a full-blown colony with families, workers, and even people living off the grid. This comes with a lot of problems. Earth still wants control, and Mars residents are clearly not okay with that anymore.
On one side, you have leaders on Earth wanting authority, and on the other, Mars is slowly forming its own identity (but after Episode 4, is it really building its own identity?).
At the same time, Helios is stuck in the middle. Dev is focused on building a future on Mars, while there are others like Alex and Lily who are questioning what that future even looks like. With more people involved and a lot more that’s at stake, every decision now feels a lot more bigger than ever before this season.
Alex’s leak in Episode 4 and what’s next for Episode 5 in “Svoboda” on Mars
Episode 4 of For All Mankind Season 5 did set off a chain reaction, if we’re being honest. Alex joins Helios and tries to stay low-key, but that doesn’t really last. Then, he suddenly comes across a locked automation file on a computer and with some pushing from Lily, Alex decides to break into it.
What he finds is literally a full plan to replace human workers who’re living on Mars and send them back to Earth.
What Alex has found out at his work place, puts him at a really tough spot. He knows exposing it will cause problems for him and his mom, but staying silent also feels a lot more worse. In the end, he decides to leak everything and leak is likely the trigger for what Episode 5 of of For All Mankind Season 5 is about to explore.
Elsewhere, Avery finally gets through her selection process after opening up about her past. Kelly’s Titan mission also launches off perfectly without any issues, showing that space exploration is still pretty strong.
Next up, we have Episode 5, titled “Svoboda,” that comes in with a clear hint about what’s to come next. The official synopsis for the episode says:
“Chaos erupts on Mars following a shocking revelation.”
Even though the synopsis is a bit vague, it directly connects back to Alex’s leak as the workers now know that they might be replaced and sent back to Earth.
