Taylor Swift raves about Dakota Johnson after the latter gets inducted into TIME’s The 100 Most Influential People of 2026

Taylor Swift is one of the most iconic pop idols of her generation and one of the most influential singers in the history of music. Her record-setting Eras Tour set the new benchmark for live performances, and her dating and social life are generally always immediate tabloid fodder.

In the latest news about the Life of a Showgirl artist, Taylor Swift recently showed up for one of her A-list friends in an exceedingly genuine way. It was recently announced that the songstress’s close friend, Dakota Johnson, was named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026, and Swift wrote a glowingly positive personal essay about Johnson, which was published alongside the list.

“As her friend, I can vouch for her realness, but add that she’s also one of the most empathetic people I’ve ever known. And maybe it’s true that she can’t lie. But I’ll tell you a few more things she can’t do. She can’t stop asking people questions about their lives, endlessly curious about everyone else’s human experience. She can’t stop challenging herself, taking newer and bolder risks like building her production company TeaTime Pictures.”

She added,

“She can’t stop exploring the most intricate relationship complexities like in last year’s Splitsville and Materialists. Captivating in front of the screen and inquisitive behind it, her unfailing truthfulness helps to shape her ever evolving storytelling into art that feels as real and timeless as she is. She comes by it honestly.”

This is a rare look behind the curtain at one of Taylor Swift’s personal relationships, as she has been very guarded since her very public dispute with former bestie Blake Lively.

Taylor Swift leads the pack with AMA nominations, more

In other news, this year, Taylor Swift leads all artists in nominations for the 2026 AMAs. Her 8 eight nods surpass Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, and others who have 7. Interestingly, Taylor Swift is already the winningest artist in the history of the American Music Awards, with 40 total wins to date. Her 8 nominations will also likely lead to that number increasing after this year’s ceremony. For reference, Michael Jackson is currently in second place with 24 wins.

Also, as per Page Six, reports suggest that Taylor Swift’s wedding dress will be inspired by one of her idols, Elizabeth Taylor. The Daily Mail then reported that the singer’s gown for her upcoming wedding to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is, in fact, inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s first wedding dress when she wed hotel magnate Conrad Hilton.
