Bonnie’s book signing turns into legal chaos

Here is what happened on Days of our Lives, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, when Jeremy comforted Stephanie, Bonnie’s big day was ruined, Julie offered Liam a job, and Maggie and Kate exchanged barbs.

Ari stopped by the Hernandez house to visit with Javi, but he was out. Gabi told Ari that she had moved into the Kiriakis mansion with Philip. “You never told me that you guys were serious,” Ari said. Gabi told Ari that she and Philip had said, “I love you.” Ari hugged her mother and congratulated her.

Gabi told Ari about the fight she had witnessed between Bonnie and Justin. Ari explained it was likely due to the lawsuit. Ari admitted that she had seen similarities between the books, but a friend had dismissed the idea. “I wish I hadn’t listened to him, because I could have spared DiMera this big mess,” Ari said. Gabi asked about the internship. Ari said she was enjoying the work, but she was disappointed Theo had quit. Gabi asked why, but Ari had no information.

Bonnie arrived at Julie’s bookstore, and she admitted that Justin would not attend the book signing because of the possible plagiarism in her book. “Could this be the reason that DiMera Publishing is not supporting this book signing?” Julie asked. Liam arrived and apologized for having missed their tutoring session. “Don’t worry about that. You were shot,” Julie said. Julie asked Liam where he had been hiding. Liam said he had stayed with a friend.

Worried, Bonnie asked Julie why no one had arrived for her book signing yet. Bonnie argued that Julie had failed to advertise enough for the book signing. Ari walked in. “I think Julie promoted this event as much as she could, considering DiMera’s publicity department’s hands were tied thanks to the lawsuit,” Ari said. Bonnie argued that it was humiliating that no one had shown up to her book signing, and DiMera had sent an intern to harass her. Julie defended Ari.

“Somebody’s got to be blamed for this pathetic turnout,” Bonnie yelled. “That is not Ari’s fault,” Liam interjected. A processor stopped in with a court order from Titan to stop the sale of the book until the lawsuit was resolved. The delivery man collected the boxes of books as Bonnie watched helplessly.

Maggie was working late in her office at Titan when Kate walked in. Maggie asked Kate if the lawsuit she had filed behind Maggie’s back was part of Kate’s busy schedule. Kate said she had consulted with Xander about the lawsuit before they had moved ahead. “Next time, don’t do anything unless I sign off on it. Is that clear?” Maggie said. Kate argued that she had acted to save the company. Maggie noted that Xander had managed to make the loan payment.

“I’m just wondering if you signed off on those methods, whatever they were,” Kate said. When Maggie remained silent, Kate noted that it proved that Maggie was not the right person to save the company. “So you think being manipulative and ruthless makes you strong?” Maggie asked. Maggie noted that she had fought tougher battles in her life. “And I did it without losing my soul,” Maggie added.

“So much fire and fury. Too bad it never quite translates into results,” Kate said. Maggie reminded Kate that she was the boss and would not tolerate Kate acting on her own. “I wasn’t aware that I needed your permission,” Kate said. Kate argued that Xander and Philip were the CEOs, and Maggie was more of a figurehead. Kate added that her relationship with Victor was more significant than Maggie’s.

“I gave him a son. What did you give him?” Kate asked. Kate argued that Maggie provided warmth, but she had provided passion. “Don’t you dare reduce my marriage to anything less than it was. I was the love of Victor’s life,” Maggie said. Julie interrupted the discussion when she called from the bookstore to ask about Titan’s injunction against Bonnie’s book.

At the bookstore, Bonnie was in tears as she begged the man not to take her books. Julie talked to Maggie on the phone about Bonnie’s devastation. “She was expecting to have this wonderful book signing, and nobody came. And now they’ve carted away her books,” Julie said. Maggie promised to look into the matter.

After the call, Maggie told Kate about the injunction. Maggie complained that her family member’s big day was interrupted by Maggie’s own company. “And you didn’t think to run this by me either?” Maggie asked. Kate noted that an injunction was standard operating procedure. “You will never, ever do that again. Or you will no longer have a job at Titan,” Maggie said. Kate called into question Maggie’s competence. Maggie and Kate argued about the source of the claim.

Kate insisted that she had wanted to help Johnny and had not known about the contents of Bonnie’s book. Maggie argued that she wanted to maintain the integrity of the company and did not believe that Kate saw that as a priority. Maggie told Kate that she would not tolerate factions. “We either hang together or we hang separately,” Maggie said.

At the bookstore, Bonnie sniffled back tears as Ari handed her a cup of tea. “I am so sorry, Bonnie,” Ari said. “Justin warned me this might happen, but I didn’t believe him. I worked so hard on that book!” Bonnie said. After Bonnie and Ari left, Julie thanked Liam for his help. Julie asked Liam if he wanted to work in her store. “[But] I’m just learning to read,” Liam said. Julie argued that Liam’s reading would improve if he worked regularly with Julie. Liam accepted.

When Ari returned, Liam apologized for not responding to her texts. “It’s not good for you to be around a guy like me,” Liam said. “Shouldn’t I be the judge of that?” Ari asked. Liam noted that Ari did not know him well enough to judge him.

When Alex was unable to reach Stephanie by phone, he went over to the pub. Roman offered takeout for Alex on the house. While Alex waited for the food, Roman asked about the plagiarism lawsuit. “I thought that suing DiMera and Johnny was a bad idea. Obviously, your wife didn’t,” Alex said. Alex lamented that Johnny had to suffer the consequences.

Gabi walked in to meet up with Jada, Theo, and Philip, and asked Alex if he and Stephanie wanted to join them for trivia date night. Alex politely passed. Gabi noted that as a former abductee, she sympathized with what Stephanie was going through. “What helped me most was the support of my family and friends,” Gabi said. When Gabi noted that Stephanie was lucky to have Alex, he countered that Stephanie might not agree.

Alex confided to Gabi that he was worried that he could lose Stephanie, but Gabi dismissed the idea as unlikely because they loved one another. Roman returned with the takeout order. “Give Stephanie my love,” Roman said. “Let’s just hope that she’s there when I get home,” Alex whispered to himself.

As Gabi waited for her companions at a table, Ari walked in. “Something is obviously upsetting you,” Gabi noted. “Just guys being jerks,” Ari said. Gabi asked if Ari was talking about Gage, the man from her dorm. Ari said no.

In the square, Stephanie stared at a picture of Alex on her phone and thought about their fight. “What is wrong with me?” Stephanie whispered. Jeremy saw her and asked if he could help. “Alex has been kind of overprotective lately,” Stephanie said. Stephanie confided that Alex’s efforts made her feel weak. “The last thing you are is weak,” Jeremy said. Jeremy argued that Stephanie’s knowledge and resilience had saved them both when they were being held.

“If I had to be held captive, I’m glad it was with you,” Jeremy said. Stephanie said she felt the same way. “I’m so grateful that you didn’t run when I told you to,” Stephanie said. Stephanie mentioned that she was in therapy and that she needed to be honest about her feelings. “And that’s how I feel,” Stephanie said.

“It’s got to be hard for Alex to deal with all this. I mean, you getting kidnapped? It’s a hell of a way for you to start your married life together,” Jeremy said. Stephanie confessed that she felt like a different person than the one who had married Alex. “However different you are, Alex is a very lucky guy to have you,” Jeremy said. Stephanie scoffed, and she told Jeremy that she had flipped out on Alex. “But he’s been so caring, and he’s tried so hard to help me through this. It’s just it’s hard for me to talk about what happened with him or anyone else,” Stephanie said. Stephanie noted that Jeremy was the only exception, because he had gone through the same trauma. Jeremy and Stephanie hugged.

Alex was walking through the square when he saw Jeremy and Stephanie hugging. Alex turned to walk away, but Stephanie called out to him. Jeremy left so that Stephanie could talk to Alex alone. “Jeremy was just helping me work through some things,” Stephanie explained. “I am glad that somebody was able to help you,” Alex said.

At the Horton house, Jeremy was ending a call with his father when Julie returned home. Jeremy asked about the book signing. Julie noted that it had been a disaster. “Well, my evening was interesting,” Jeremy said.

At Alex and Stephanie’s apartment, Stephanie asked Alex if he was mad at her. Alex admitted that he was envious that Jeremy was able to help Stephanie when he could not. “That’s not true,” Stephanie said. With a sigh, Stephanie noted that she was not up to having a conversation. “I hate that you are hurting. I love you,” Alex said. “I love you, too,” Stephanie said.
