General Hospital fans have been wondering when we will see our favorite seasoned super spy, Anna Devane, again. She has been languishing in a French mental hospital for months after languishing in the bowels of Wyndemere for months before that. During that time, Finola Hughes hasn’t spent much time on the GH set, but according to Chris McKenna, that’s about to change.
The Finola Hughes update we’ve been waiting for
Jason (Steve Burton) is missing, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) has fallen for Carly (Laura Wright), Emma (Braedyn Bruner) is anguished, and Faison’s (Anders Hove) children have reappeared, yet the WSB superstar has been out of commission for far too long, with fans clamoring for her return. When one fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to lament how much they missed Anna, co-star McKenna chimed in with some welcome info:
“Finola is on her way back,” was all McKenna said, immediately bringing joy to fans’ hearts.
“OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!? Is she really coming back???? We miss Anna/Finola so much!!!!,” @Christinelb563 wrote, expressing the sentiments of most fans.
One X user teased McKenna about Jack cheating on Carly with Anna, saying, “To you? If Jack cheating on Carly Imma be pissed.” McKenna replied with a tease: “Could beeee…”
Anna’s long road back to General Hospital
Poor Anna was kidnapped from her car on November 5th, with McKenna’s Jack receiving information that Anna had been sent out of town on a special WSB assigment. Jack and Anna’s friends and family believed that lie for months, but fans knew that Anna was in the Wyndemere basement the whole time, while Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) tried to make her believe that Faison was still alive.
In January, Sidwell and Cullum secretly moved Anna to Paris, where they apparently left her on the side of the road in a crazed state. She was picked up by police and placed in a mental health facility. When Emma, Felicia (Kristina Wagner), and Mac (John J. York) journeyed to France to find her, they found Anna in a panic insisting she had to protect her loved ones from Faison.
A heartbroken Emma left her grandmother in the facility, but later paid an off-screen visit with an off-screen Robin. When Emma returned to Port Charles, she reported no improvement in Anna’s condition.
Currently, Anna’s loved ones believe the WSB mission she was allegedly on is what drove her crazy. They have yet to learn how she ended up in France or where she was during the months prior. With the Faison’s Final Project story coming to a head and so many players getting more involved, it’s only a matter of time before someone learns the truth and brings Anna home. From the sounds of McKenna’s posts, that someone might be Jack.
