She is the Second daughter of Castle Group and CEO of Castle Beauty. Hui-ju is nicknamed “Castle group’s mad dog”.

Relations: Daughter of Seong Hyeon-guk; half-sister to Seong Tae-ju. Enters a contract marriage with Grand Prince I-an for status.

Personality: Fiercely competitive, calculating, assertive, and unapologetic. Brilliant mind, stunning looks and high winning rate in the business world. Scorns “nobles” and thrives on rivalry as Hui-ju said, “I’d rather win dirty than lose cleanly”.

What she really wants: Overcome her illegitimate/commoner stigma and secure unbreakable social legitimacy/status. She views marriage as a strategic business move to “win” the ultimate prize (royal ties) for herself, her company, and her future. Her proposal to Yi An is purely goal-oriented at first.

He is the Second son of King Hee-jong and currently the acting regent. The Grand Prince seems to be everyone’s favorite royal member due to charm and dignity.

Relations: Uncle of the young King Yoon. I-an is the brother-in-law to Queen Dowager Yoon Yi-rang and later marries Seong Hui-ju via contract. His Loyal aide is Choi Hyun, and his close confidant is none other than Prime Minister Min Jeong-woo.

Personality: Passionate and fiery but he cannot show it much due to royal rules. I-an is extremely caring when it comes to people he loves.

What he really wants: Freedom from royal constraints. I-an has the title but no real autonomy, property, or ability to pursue desires. He faces pressure for a strategic marriage that would further trap him. Hui-ju’s bold proposal intrigues him as she’s someone who understands him.

Personality: Elite background, brilliant, charming, and seemingly kind but politically unpredictable.

What he really wants: Maintain and wield power and influence while preserving his sincere friendship with I-an. However, when Jeong-woo hears about I-an and Hui-ju’s marriage, he doesn’t like it. It seems like Jeong-woo likes Hui-ju and he might join hands with I-an’s enemy if he gets manipulated by Queen Mother.
