General Hospital Two Scoops For the Week of April 6th

General Hospital’s Valentin didn’t have the night he wanted, but neither did Curtis and Jordan. Clearly, Curtis and Jordan had a worse night, as did several others who drove along (fictional) Route 91 in Upstate New York this week. So much for opening night at Charlie’s being everything everyone hoped it would be. (Maybe Kristina should consider that the place is cursed.) And that’s where we start this week, because bad driving makes for good soap opera.

Jordan and Curtis…we have questions

So, everyone was at Charlie’s grand re-opening, including Curtis’ daughter, who was singing, but Curtis and Jordan were on their way to a fancy restaurant for a dinner date. Why were they not headed to Charlie’s like everyone else? That’s just our first question about this debacle of a date night. Second, why did you take your eyes off the road for a kiss, Jordan? Like, how dumb can you be? That’s actually worse than texting and driving because she also had to lean over to get the smooch in. Being the former police commissioner and deputy mayor, in charge of safety in Port Charles, Jordan should know better.

Now, Jordan and her one kidney are in the ICU after surgery, with Curtis not even sure that Jordan will live. That’s not a good situation, but seriously, how did you not laugh when Curtis flagged down help, and Valentin appeared from the fog out of nowhere, not saying a word? We felt like we were in Greenland again, but were just glad Drew wasn’t there to get knocked upside the head by Victor, before needing a save from Holly, the person who really saved Willow’s life, but we digress.

We can’t just imagine what was going through Curtis’ mind when an international fugitive who everyone has been looking for since December just showed up to deliver some feats of strength to get Jordan out of the car before it went boom. Then, he vanished into the night again as if he were never there. Can someone call Marvel? We have a new middle-aged superhero. (His dad, Victor, was a wannabe Thanos, so why not?)

Happiness is…a glass (or two) of wine

According to Curtis, they nearly hit someone, but whoever it was drove off, leaving Jordan and Curtis for dead. So, hmmm, who was possibly driving erratically to have caused this accident? Could it have been a celebratory Brook Lynn? She was mighty happy after learning she would be a foster mom, so Brook Lynn sipped some wine. She may have even sipped a little more wine and not thought about it.

She certainly didn’t think about it when Dante called to tell her Gio was about to perform. We never saw anyone run so fast. We also never saw anyone stumble into a jazz bar as fast as Brook Lynn did. Could something have happened along the way? Did Brook Lynn see the car swerve and not realize it hit something?

IF Brook Lynn is the one who left Curtis and Jordan to die because she was drinking, the storyline possibilities are endless. First,

Doctors who make house calls

You’d think Dante would notice that Rocco has the same exact bandage and type of wound on his hand in the exact same spot that Jason had a wound. And their hands got hurt the same night, but nope, he doesn’t. But who is willing to bet that when Rocco inevitably ends up in General Hospital near death, he’s going to find out.

But that’s neither here nor there because Lulu wasn’t about to take her son back to the ER, so she called her brother’s BFF to make a house call. And wouldn’t you know that Isaiah took Route 91 to get there from his cabin hideaway with pregnant Portia? He was late getting to Lulu’s house and seemed pretty darn distracted when he got home. Then, Portia told him about Jordan’s accident and he seemed a bit freaked out. Was he worried about Jordan — or worried about what he might have done to Jordan?

And THIS is where General Hospital stands out from the other soaps. A new layer is added to existing stories every week to create mystery, intrigue, and surprises, with multiple umbrella stories. Every story seems to weave together and we are never bored. Now, we have a hit-and-run mystery to solve, so we need to put those thinking caps on over the next few weeks. Perhaps someone else was on that road we haven’t even thought about…

Attic boyfriend, at Carly’s service

So, General Hospital has a new couple everyone is talking about and nobody expected. Valentin sure didn’t, but when Carly walked into Steinmauer with her awful black wig and big ol’ glasses, Valentin was smitten, so he thought why not jump out of a plane and move in with her?

And that’s just what he did. Valentin and Carly have been roommates for months and it’s the best thing that has happened to GH in years. Whoever decided to make Valentin Carly’s devoted manservant deserves a medal. This is the most unlikely pairing, but one nobody can seem to get enough of.

Carly may complain, but we know she likes coming home at the end of a long funeral day, putting her feet up on the coffee table, and having a drink handed to her to unwind. One night it’s coq a vin, another night it’s a glass of wine. What could be better? Well, a roll in the hay, but Danny and Charlotte put a crimp in those plans.

If Danny and Charlotte had not put a crimp in those plans, Carly certainly wouldn’t have slept with Jack. But we wouldn’t have had the chance to witness that electric moment when Valentin appeared in front of Curtis’ face like a hoodie-clad ghost in the night. And we wouldn’t have missed that for anything.

Attic boyfriend’s broken heart

But our poor French-speaking, piano-playing, Billy Joel-singing, undercover sous chef attic boyfriend had his tender heart broken when Jack showed up and Carly ended up having sex with him. Valentin looked so forlorn on the veranda as he peeked through the French doors, willing Carly not to do it. But Carly had to keep up appearances, right? She can’t let her only connection to Jason go, so she had to take one for the team.

As Valentin paced around downstairs, drinking his sorrows away, he had no idea that Carly could only picture him when she was in bed with Jack. We’re sure that would have changed what happened the morning after.

Our lovely Carly and Valentin had a little lovers’ spat with Valentin storming up to his attic and slamming the door and Carly thinking back to the moment a month ago when an international fugitive rocked her world.

General Hospital’s Faison sibs…and Sidwell

Yes, Britt has known that the man calling himself Nathan has been Cassius all along. Knock us over with a feather. GH couldn’t have made this “reveal” more obvious, considering that hug Britt gave her brother back in September. But it turns out the Faison siblings are kinda fun. They clearly got to know one another well while Britt was gone for two years, so they immediately had a rapport.

We can see Cassius turning on Sidwell and teaming up with Britt and company to finally take this man down. Or maybe Sidwell will team up with them to take Cullum down. There are so many different dynamics at play here and anything can happen. We love it when unlikely characters form a united front. Invite Sonny, Ric, Josslyn, Valentin, Carly, and even Anna into this little crew by summer and Operation Rescue Jason will commence. Or so we hope…

Till next week, Scoopers, when we see if Carly and Valentin can really keep things as just business.
