The Teen Wolf actor-turned-activist, Michael J. Fox, recently drew attention on the internet after CNN accidentally published an article and a video on their website, which was meant to “remember the life” of the Doc Hollywood star. As per IGN, while the article and the video have been removed from CNN’s website, the mishap sparked concern for Fox.
CNN, taking responsibility for the mishap, has admitted that the article was “published in error”. According to IGN, CNN released a statement, which read:
“We have removed it from our platforms and send our apologies to Michael J. Fox and his family.”
Following the incident, a representative for Fox shared a statement with TMZ, stating that the actor is fine and is “doing great.” The statement also mentioned that the Back to the Future star was recently at a convention for interviews. Michael was also spotted at a wrap party for the third installment of Apple TV’s comedy-drama series Shrinking on April 7, 2026.
After the CNN mishap, Michael J. Fox, addressing the incident, shared a statement on Threads. The Secret of My Success star mocked CNN in an interesting way for reporting on his “death.” Fox took to Threads and wrote:
“How do you react when you turn on the TV and CNN is reporting your death? Do you…A) switch to MNSBC, or whatever they are calling themselves these days, (B) Pour scolding hot water on your lap, if it hurts your fine, (C) Call your wife, hopefully she’s concerned but reassuring, (D) Relax, they do this once every year, (E) Ask yourself wtf ? I thought the world was ending, but apparently it’s just me and I’m ok. Love, Mike.”
Michael J. Fox and Gibson launched a search for the guitar from Back to the Future

Michael J. Fox, who made a guest appearance in the third season of Harrison Ford and Jason Segel’s comedy-drama series Shrinking, which was released on January 28, 2026, launched a search for the guitar, ES-345, featured in Back to the Future with the guitar giant Gidbon in June 2025. The guitar ES-345 was lost after the filming of Robert Zemeckis’ 1985 adventure-sci/fi film. Michael told his fans:
“We need your help, we’re trying to find the guitar I played in Back to the Future. It’s somewhere lost in the space-time continuum, or it’s in some teamster’s garage.”
