Here is the complete Law & Order Season 25 Episode 17 recap.

A robbery turned into a murder in Law & Order Season 25 Episode 17

Turns out, Detective Riley and Walker were late to stop the robbery in Law & Order Season 25 Episode 17. The armed robbers had not only stolen the Crown of Popayan, the most coveted artifact owned by the Vatican, but had also shot the beloved security guard, Cecil Carbo, who was guarding the crown with his life. Archbishop Keane was upset with this robbery and demanded to pray over Cecil’s dead body, the museum’s loyal security guard who had volunteered to guard the crown because of his deep faith. Riley and Walker learned that the two robbers had split after the robbery. While one escaped on a stolen bike, the other committed su*c*de when the cops surrounded him.

As Riley and Walker begin to inspect the robber’s dead body in Law & Order Season 25 Episode 17, they find no phone or wallet on him. They ran the suspect’s tattoo just in case, to see if he was affiliated with any street gang. Elsewhere, since the jewel crown was connected to the Vatican, the Archbishop maintained that the case should go to the Church jurisdiction. However, Lieutenant Brady maintained that the case was theirs.

The Detectives studied the complicated history behind the crown, which was on display for the first time in years and naturally drew in a huge crowd. However, Indigenous Colombians were not happy with this display as they believed that it was their property. They had not only made it in the first place but its diamonds came from their mines. Amaru, a Colombian who had threatened the museum in the past, became the primary suspect, but he had not stolen the artifact.

Law & Order Season 25 Episode 17 concluded with a bittersweet justice

The detectives found a breakthrough match with the dead suspect’s tattoo in Law & Order Season 25 Episode 17. Turns out, his name was Frank Stephens and he was former military. In no time, they had captured his friend, Flaco, who served with him in Afghanistan. Flaco did not know his legal name, which created problems. The squad learned that Flaco and Frank used to communicate through a pager and planned to travel to Miami, which had another connecting flight to Yemen. While Flaco refused to share the details about the location of the crown, the Vatican was pressuring to get it back.

This was when the department hit a jackpot in Law & Order Season 25 Episode 17 with Flaco’s Uncle, who worked in Import/Export. Turns out, Flaco was sniffing around, asking how to move jewels around the world. When Flaco’s uncle agreed to testify against him in court, Flaco grew worried and accepted a lighter sentence in exchange for the crown’s location. As the crown was returned to its original place, Flaco was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for manslaughter, which did not sit right with Cecil’s family, as the lighter sentence was unfair.
