Here’s what went down Wednesday, April 8, 2026 on Beyond the Gates when former marrieds grooved, Vanessa wanted gun-toting advice, and cousins went from squabblers to squealers.
What happened on Beyond the Gates
On Beyond the Gates, Vanessa went to Dani, still upset over her disastrous double date with Joey and Deanna’s reaction to their relationship. As Dani suggested that she try a “ceramics therapy session,” like the one she had guided Nicole through last summer, Nicole was also relaying details of the contentious get-together to Kat. Vanessa felt that Nicole had overreacted to Joey’s pointed queries and accusations, and Kat thought her mom should have a do-over dinner with Vanessa and Joey, only setting ground rules about conversation topics first. Nicole agreed to consider it. Vanessa agreed to consider chucking a coffee cup.
Later, Ted brought Nicole a favorite dessert and engaged in so much small talk that she realized there was something specific he wanted to say. Nicole was surprised when Ted threw his support behind Carlton, underlining his buddy’s enduring interest in Nicole and writing Kial off as fly-by-night. Ted didn’t know what to say when Nicole only half-jokingly called Shanice’s judgment into question, since she was the one who had introduced her to Kial. Both Ted and Nicole were amazed that they could not only be civil with each other, given how they’d broken up, they could so easily talk to each other about their new love lives.
Mystery of iniquity
Tomás nervously went into Bill’s office to tender his resignation, as he had been hired at Stickle and Garrett. Bill replied by saying he had seen a lot of himself in Tomás during his entrance interview – and that he had invested too much in Tomás to let him quit. After Bill threw Tomás’s resignation into his fireplace, he shocked Tomás, informing him that his suspicions about Lynette had been spot-on.
Bill and Tomás went over how Lynette had latched onto Hayley soon after becoming a client; Bill deduced that Lynette had seen how lonely his wife was and had targeted her. Since Hayley was paying Lynette’s bills, the senior lawyer continued, she must be indebted to Lynette in some way – and both Tomás and Bill came to believe that Hayley’s mugging had been staged. Adding that Hayley’s homeless attacker had still been sleeping outside despite being able to afford accommodations with Hayley’s money, Bill commanded Tomás to delve further into all the conflicting stories.
Lynette met with Hayley, still not buying Hayley’s claim that she’d fallen in love with Bill; Lynette smirked that Hayley had also “loved” and married Harvey, Clyde, Umberto… Hayley doubled down on never having met a good man before and hesitated when Lynette began to talk about all the money she’d be spending because of Bill. When Lynette demanded enough so that he’d never have to work again, Hayley sputtered that there was no way she could withdraw that much of Bill’s cash without getting caught. After Hayley consented to supplying Lynette with weekly payments, she adamantly said the condition was that Lynette had to leave the DMV. Lynette dithered but finally accepted Hayley’s terms.
As Hayley was on the phone with Randy, complaining about being hustled by Lynette, Ms. Wise was visiting with Vanessa, negotiating to buy a penthouse condo in town, one with a view.
You don’t want drama
Chelsea chatted with Ted, who encouraged his niece when she was distraught about Fenmore’s Department Stores in Genoa City not having gotten back to ChelseaKat about carrying its line of purses. Afterwards, Kat joined Chelsea, and their pregnant pauses over the continued wait and their fangirling over maven Lauren Fenmore devolved into a blame game, with each cousin faulting the other for blowing their video chat with Lauren…and for increasingly ridiculous additional reasons.
At the Dupree mansion, Naomi visited with Anita, who was surprised to hear that Jacob hadn’t been with Naomi on their anniversary. Anita sensed there was more to Jacob’s absence than an extended training session; just as Naomi was about to tell her grandmother the truth, Anita had a chemo-related coughing fit. Then, Naomi, who had been handling the legal aspects of ChelseaKat’s negotiations with Fenmore’s, got a text from the Wisconsin company and took Anita with her to break the news to Kat and Chelsea.
The feuding cousins snapped to when Anita found them at Uptown and instructed them to behave. Naomi played it as if she were about to impart something disappointing…before shouting that Fenmore’s would be happy to do business with ChelseaKat.

Chelsea and Kat invited the available family to Uptown to celebrate with them; Kat felt that Bill had appealed to Tomás’s ego to get him to stay at the firm, but understood his nonattendance. Hayley walked in to find Dani and Bill in a playful moment. Ted and Nicole shared a warm exchange about their “miracle baby’s” success, which Kat noticed. Making videos and going online to share about the ChelseaKat-Fenmore’s deal, the cousins praised each other for the things they had taken issue with earlier, then wanted Anita to join them, only for her to again lapse into uncontrollable coughing. Naomi covered by beatboxing, which led her, Dani, and Nicole to walk a faux runway for ChelseaKat’s followers.
