Michael Jackson was one of the most influential figures in the history of pop culture, due to his music and his exceptional level of showmanship. His career was somewhat tarnished later in life due to allegations regarding his alleged involvement with minors.
As per the popular site CelebrityNetWorth, his net worth was estimated at -$500 million at the time of his passing due to decades of debt and apparent overspending, although his estate has since earned over $2 billion.
In the latest news involving the “Pretty Young Thing” singer, TMZ has reported that his daughter Paris Jackson recently slammed the two executors in charge of her father Michael’s estate. In her latest filing against the two executors, John Branca and John McClain, Paris claimed the following,
“At nearly every hearing, and again in this filing, executors try to avoid the merits by characterizing Paris’ concerns as lawyer-driven or in service of some purported desire for media attention. Neither is true.”
She added that “litigation is painful” and has also served as “a distraction from her own life and her own career.”
It’s rather unpredictable how the situation will pan out, although the scope of Michael Jackson’s expansive estate will likely continue to fuel added litigation in the coming months.

In other news about the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, a biopic centered on the polarizing singer titled Michael is set to release on April 24. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film focuses on his ascension to greatness from a young age, all the way until his “Bad Era” by which time he had officially taken the mantle of the world’s most popular figure in pop culture.
While the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, and Laura Harrier, Jackson himself will be played by his nephew Jaafar Jackson. It will be his first ever acting credit. One of the film’s producers, Graham King, shared his perspective on what initially drew him to the project in an interview with Entertainment Weekly from November 2025.
“In a biopic, there is added expectation to represent an adaptive, authentic portrayal that’s faithful to the subject. There’s biopics and then there’s Michael Jackson. An enigma, full of eccentricity, electrifying talent, arguably the most famous entertainer to ever cross the planet.”
He added,
“And yet behind the unrelenting scrutiny and the accusations and the grinding media spotlight, he was simply a man. A man who lived a very complicated life. The movie will get into all of it, including over 30 songs, recreating some of the most iconic performances on stage as well as his life out of the public eye.”
There is some contention about how the allegations from later in his life will be evaded or denied by the filmmakers, although until Michael is officially released, it will be difficult to determine if that sentiment is valid.
