The wait is over for the High Potential fans as the series released its season 2 finale yesterday on ABC. The finale leaves fans debating on what to expect in the next season. ABC has officially renewed the series for a third season. The new season is expected to premiere in Fall 2026.
Season 2 of High Potential ends with a scene in which Morgan spends the day uncovering painful truths about Roman’s past. That evening, she goes to her daughter Ava’s art show, trying to focus on something brighter. In the middle of the event, her phone rings. It is Wagner. He tells her that he is on his way to a public park to meet someone who may know what happened to Roman.
High Potential fans started debating shocking finale twists, such as Captain Nick’s fate, Lucia’s arrest, and the truth about Roman. Fans were shocked after seeing that Wagner was lured to a meeting and shot multiple times. Moreover, the fans were shocked to see the revelation of Lucia’s past crimes.

“Wow, I did NOT see that ending happening the way it did.”
Another fan replied,
“I fully believe he will be in a coma while Morgan and Karadec continue to develop feelings for each other, to be the conflict /barrier for them acting on their feelings. They will both have potential partners who they also have strong feelings for/sense of obligation to , but can’t be with (Wagner in coma, after he put his life on the line for Roman investigation , Lucia in jail after lying to him about Charles but genuinely sorry ) .”

“But yeah I honestly hate the Roman storyline . Every new detail that is added I am like this dude just keeps not feeling like a real person . Like I cannot get any type of clear picture in my head of what kind of person he is . A mural /graffiti artist who also murdered a crooked FBI agent? (Wait is that who he murdered ? What fans are expected from High Potential Season 3
Fans expect High Potential Season 3 to focus on Wagner’s uncertain fate, Karadec and Morgan’s complicated relationship, as well as more clarity around Roman’s mysterious backstory. Another fan by the name of SPFTguy said on Reddit,
“My guess is that Wagner is gone. We’ll find out. Speaking of S3, the one thing they HAVE to do is feature Oz and Daphne more. The producers must follow Reddit and they know this is more important to the fans than Morgan and Karadec doing it.”
Most viewers believe that Wagner may end up in a coma, creating emotional tension, while others are frustrated with how Roman’s character feels inconsistent and underdeveloped.
