Days of our Lives’ Tattoo Tour begins with a Leo Howard ink reveal

Days of our Lives’ Tate hasn’t been just coasting lately. Between calling out Sophia’s manipulation, supporting Holly, and trying to reveal what’s really happening. So naturally, the show decided to switch gears for a moment and remind everyone that behind all that intensity is Leo Howard… and a collection of stories literally written into his skin.

Days of our Lives kicks off a tattoo tour

The Days of our Lives official Instagram page posted a video, captioned, “DOOL Tattoo Tours, Episode 1: Leo Howard is giving us the stories behind his ink. Which one is your favorite? Drop yours in the comments. Do you have any meaningful tattoos? More Tattoo Tours coming soon.”

In the video, Howard opened with, “Oh, hey there, didn’t see you. I’m Leo Howard, TV’s Tate Black. You might always wonder why I wear long sleeves. You see, I’m about to tell you.” He grinned, then added, “I, Leo, have some tattoos. Tate does not yet. Who knows?” teasing a possible story for his character.

From there, it turned into a full guided tour: “I’ve done Brazilian jiu-jitsu for a long time, like 15 years,” he said, pointing out a triangle with a red bar tied to his black belt. He moved through each piece, from “a Sakyant… a Buddhist tattoo” for luck and family to a deeply personal one for his mom, a Death’s Head Moth, calling it “really special to me,” before admitting one design came from “a little bit of the happy juice” and still made him smile.

The ink, the reaction, and the bigger picture

Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera) popped into the comments with, “Love a man with some tats,” which feels like exactly the level of approval this segment was aiming for. Meanwhile, fans went straight for the meaning behind the ink. @shannamissettnelson wrote, “Love the tattoo you have with your mom,” while @mistyham2 added, “These are amazing, especially the one you got for your mom!!”

What stood out wasn’t just the tattoos. It was how casually Howard connected them to pieces of his life. “Each line is a different prayer… just positivity,” he said about one, while another tied directly to “my passion for films and just my relationship with my mom.” It came across as an honest reveal.

That honesty carried into the reactions. @su.nshine202 wrote, “I like your Saigon Tattoo & Your family Tattoo,” while @jsebigo added, “Those are really cool tattoos!” Even the more curious fans leaned in, like @canagirl95, wondering how tattoos get woven into characters.

Tate can chase down secrets all he wants, but Leo Howard just reminded everyone he’s got a few of his own, and people are clearly still paying attention.

Days of our Lives is available on the Peacock streaming app.
