Meghan Markle is making sure no one on her list gets left out at least not for long. The Duchess of Sussex stepped into the comments section of an Instagram post this week to personally promise her former Suits costar Patrick J. Adams that a delivery from her lifestyle brand, As Ever, was already on its way.
The exchange unfolded after a clip from the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, hosted by Amanda Hirsch, began making the rounds online. In the March 31 episode, Adams chatted with Hirsch about Meghan and the subject of jam came up naturally because Hirsch had actually received one. Adams made clear, with good humor, that he had not.
How the jam conversation started
Hirsch mentioned that when Meghan sent her a jar of jam in March 2025, it came accompanied by a handwritten note featuring the Duchess’s signature calligraphy, which Adams described as impressive penmanship. That detail alone seemed to sting a little, given that Adams had received neither the note nor the jam.
He played it for laughs, pressing Hirsch on what the jam actually tasted like and suggesting they should have cracked it open right there during the interview. Hirsch admitted she wished she had brought it along. The playful exchange resonated with fans online, and the clip gained traction quickly.
Meghan’s response
On April 2, Meghan posted a comment beneath the Instagram video, tagging Adams by name and also tagging his wife, actress Troian Bellisario. She told the couple that jams were already on the way, and added warm words for their three daughters Aurora, 7, Elliot, 4, and Imogen, now 2 months old as well as a message of love for Adams’ mother.
It was a notably personal response, and a rare one. Meghan does not frequently comment from her personal Instagram handle, which made the gesture stand out.
The brand behind the jam
Jam has become one of the most recognizable products tied to Meghan’s lifestyle venture. She originally launched the brand under the name American Riviera Orchard in 2024, sending jars to a select group of friends and public figures that spring, among them Kris Jenner, Chrissy Teigen, Mindy Kaling and several of her former Suits castmates.
In February 2025, she announced the brand was being renamed As Ever. Shortly after the debut of her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, the first As Ever product line became available to the public, featuring fruit jams alongside flower sprinkles, baking mixes and teas. The line has since grown to include honey, wine and candles, with fruit spreads now available in raspberry, orange marmalade and strawberry varieties.
Meghan has been deliberate about how she frames her role in the business world. she described herself not as an influencer but as an entrepreneur and a female founder, adding that if the brand becomes influential along the way, she considers that a welcome outcome.
A friendship that spans more than a decade
Adams and Meghan go back to the earliest days of Suits, the legal drama that aired on USA Network from 2011 to 2018. The two played colleagues and love interests across the show’s first seven seasons, with Adams portraying Mike Ross and Meghan in the role of Rachel Zane.
Meghan departed the series in late 2017 following her engagement to Prince Harry, framing the decision not as a sacrifice but as a natural transition into a new chapter. The show wrapped its original run with the season 9 finale in 2019.
Suits found an entirely new audience when it arrived on Netflix in the summer of 2023, becoming one of the platform’s most-watched titles and sparking widespread renewed interest in the series. When Meghan was asked about the phenomenon at Variety’s Power of Women event that November, she credited the cast, crew and the lasting quality of the work without claiming to fully understand the surge in popularity.
A small but meaningful moment
The jam exchange is a light one by any measure, but it offers a glimpse into the warmth that clearly still exists between Meghan and her former castmates. Adams will now finally get his jar and if the podcast clip is any indication, he has been waiting long enough.
