Here’s what went down Thursday, April 2, 2026 on Beyond the Gates when Randy got snagged, Nicole may have proven Carlton right, and Tomás didn’t like the hours of The National Bank of Kat.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Vanessa tried to mediate between Joey, Nicole, and Carlton, to no avail. Carlton slammed Joey’s criminal reputation, with Joey countering that Carlton had slid into Nicole’s bed before her divorce was even final. Nicole had had enough when Joey scoffed at the Duprees having skeletons and stormed out, with Carlton following close behind.
Having returned to the casino, Vanessa was pissed at Joey for treating their relationship like it was a mistake; she was tired of everyone, including him, shaming her for being involved with him. When Vanessa railed that Carlton hadn’t asked for an op-ed on the cosmetic surgery profession, Joey maintained that he spoke his mind and refused to be more approachable, as Vanessa suggested. Joey reminded Vanessa that his reputation was part of the package; Vanessa decided she wasn’t going to let others’ disapproval of Joey stop her from being with him and opted to grow a thicker skin instead.
Reflections

At her home, Nicole fumed over Joey’s treatment of her and Carlton and couldn’t believe that Vanessa had allowed it. Carlton was concerned over Joey’s implication that the Duprees had bodies buried, but Nicole said that Joey had only been trying to bait her. She was afraid for Vanessa and wanted to stage an intervention, not liking it when Carlton countered that Vanessa was a grown woman who could make her own decisions.
Carlton said that Nicole might be projecting – like Vanessa, Nicole had begun acting differently as a result of recent upheaval in her life. Nicole spat that Carlton probably liked her better when she was boring and predictable and sent him on his way. Across town, Kial woke up to find that Nicole had let herself into his condo and his bed; she made love to him, all but saying the act was a palette cleanser after her evening.
Hit me, kick me, you can never get me

Dani was surprised when Bill summoned her to his office to talk about his will. With Anita facing her mortality, Dani didn’t want to deal with anyone else’s, but Bill, also having been affected, wanted to make Dani aware of some changes he’d made: specifically, that he was leaving Naomi a stake in his firm and setting Chelsea up to fund more entrepreneurial endeavors. Bill also let Dani know that he appreciated her sacrifices during their marriage and bequeathed her a painting of their daughters to show it. Dani was amazed that she and Bill had reached a level of functionality, laughing that he was now a “friend with beneficiary.”
Across town, Hayley got her hands on the drinks Joey and the others had forfeited by leaving before their order came. She sat with Randy, who was shocked to learn that Bill had charged Joey with getting info on Lynette – moreover, Joey had put it together that Hayley’s mugging had been staged. Hayley wanted to kill Bill immediately before he caught on, but Randy felt that Hayley would be the prime suspect if she took that step. Instead, Randy promised to finesse things so it looked like Lynette had acted alone.
Randy inadvertently interrupted Vanessa and Joey; after Vanessa left, Joey was annoyed that Randy had come by to talk about a liquor supplier. Joey sat Randy down and revealed that he knew about Lynette and Randy’s finger-sucking escapade at Orphey Gene’s. Desperate, Randy hoped Joey would lead Bill down the wrong path about Lynette, but Joey would only say, “I’m not gonna save your ass” and mockingly wished him luck.
Shook ones

Hayley got together with Lynette under the guise of a final visit before Lynette left town to entrap another mark. Lynette decided “the DMV” was full of marks, but none so lucrative as Bill. Lynette didn’t buy Hayley’s pronouncements that she had fallen in love with Bill; she identified it as one of Hayley’s scamming patterns. Hayley protested, but Lynette smirked that Bill was “sitting on more paper than a printing press.” And, Lynette declared, if Hayley didn’t find a way to cut her in for a chunk, she would expose what she was sure was Hayley’s biggest con yet.
Kat met Tomás at the country club, unhappy that Tomás had lied about being in Baltimore working a case when he was really interviewing for another job. Tomás explained that he hadn’t wanted to put Kat in the position of having to lie to Bill. Hearing that Kat had “read Bill for filth” for considering Hayley’s sexual harassment accusations, Tomás felt that Kat had made things worse and proved that he needed his girlfriend to fight his battles for him.
After Kat saw his point, Tomás described how he was on the short list at the new firm, where he would be a full partner – but having to buy in to earn a percentage later was going to make things tight for him. Kat offered to lend Tomás the money, but again, he wanted to do for himself. Kat was impressed and noted that they could investigate Lynette with Tomás no longer tied to Bill. Tomás preferred to let the whole Lynette situation go, but Kat feared that the scammer’s plots might affect her family somehow. Deeming their partnership unstoppable, Kat got Tomás to toast to their anti-Lynette crusade.
