In Dateline: Temptation, the case of Christine and Joseph is explored as a premeditated double homicide carried out by Christine’s husband, Brendan, and the family’s au pair, Juliana Peres. “What I do hope is that even for a moment, that the world, and you, judge, will say Joe meant more than nothing. That he was someone worthy of dignity and life who didn’t deserved to be used and thrown away, treated as utterly disposable.”
Juliana apologized, saying,
“I hope someday I can be forgiven, as I hope to be able to forgive myself.”
