Who is David Cross married to? Arrested Development star reveals his celebrity hall pass

Atlanta, Georgia-based stand-up comedian-turned-actor, David Cross, recently opened up about a bunch of things he never talked about in the 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me feature in the recent issue of Us Weekly.

While the 61-year-old comedian, David Cross, has appeared in numerous comedy shows and shared several things about himself with his fans and followers, there are a few things he has never revealed before, which he did in the latest issue of Us Weekly.

The Year One actor, David Cross, who is primarily popular for his comedy and stand-up specials, is widely known for playing Tobias Funke in Mitchel Hurwitz’s 2003 sitcom Arrested Development, which also stars Norman Bates, Michael Cera, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, and others.

Cross, who is also a TV producer and writer, is married to actress-turned-author Amber Tamblyn, with whom he shares a daughter, Marlow Alice. While David and Amber have been married for 14 years, since 2012, according to People Magazine, they first came across one another on a flight in 2007. They were traveling to Louisiana from Houston.

As cited by People Magazine, while talking about one of their initial dates during a 2017 interview with the New York Post, Amber said:

“One of the first dates David ever took me on, we rode our bikes up on the Brooklyn Bridge. When we got to the top of the arch, he pulled out a bottle of red wine, cheese and crackers from his backpack and we put a blanket down. We ate and drank and hung out at sunset, facing the Statue of Liberty.”

While in Us Weekly‘s 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me feature, David Cross shared for the first time that his first job was at an Italian restaurant called Provino’s, where he washed dishes, and that one of the most prominent celebrities on his contact list is comedy writer Bill Odenkirk. He also revealed that his wife, Amber Tamblyn, is his “hall pass.”

As cited by Us Weekly, he said:

“My wife would be fine if I got with her.”

During a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, David Cross discussed his upcoming comedy special, The End of the Beginning of the End, which is set to be released on April 7, 2026, on YouTube. When he was asked what the title of his upcoming comedy special means to him, Cross said:

“Well, you can look at it in a couple different ways. To me, it signifies that the beginning of the end has occurred. And we are now at the end of the beginning of the end. And from where you go with that, that’s for you to decide.”
