Why destroy poor James West?

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

We have known from the start that Nathan wasn’t really Nathan, but we were praying that we were wrong for one big reason — James West. That little boy had wanted a father for so long. As Felicia pointed out, he spent much of his young life looking for father figures until he finally had his own dad. James has been living the life he has always wanted for weeks. His dad is there and his mother is out of a coma. What could be better? Well, James is going to eventually have his heart broken, which will make this all so much worse. Perhaps a better story would have been James rejecting Nathan and not believing he was his real dad when this man first returned to town last September. He could have been the only one in Port Charles insisting to everyone that this man was a fake, but instead, he is now attached to him. Hopefully, there is way more to this story than just an evil twin imposter. Perhaps Cassius isn’t evil at all and just finds himself in a bad situation where he is forced to follow orders. He seems to really have genuine feelings for Lulu and is attached to James, so it would be nice if he is not one of the bad guys. At least James’ heart won’t be broken too much if this is a good twin and not an evil one.
