Candace Owens react to new development of firearm mismatch in Charlie Kirk case

Candace Owens has publicly reacted to the firearm mismatch update in the Charlie Kirk case. As per the recent court update, Tyler Robinson has claimed through his defense attorneys that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives could not match the bullet found during the autopsy to the rifle he is said to have used. Robinson was charged with killing Charlie Kirk at Utah University in September last year.

According to Tyler’s defense lawyers, the gun found was a Mauser Model 98 rifle. However, after the investigation, the ATF couldn’t confirm if the bullet that was found on Kirk’s body came from it.

Reacting to the news, American commentator and author Candace Owens shared the Daily Mail post on her X with the statement:

“Where are all my neocons who have been “overwhelmed” by the non existent evidence against Tyler Robinson? You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Hope the money was worth your soul.”

After posting the first tweet, Candace Owens uploaded another tweet in which she wrote:

“And the other part no one wants to discuss— that about 7 sets of prints were found on the gun, which the bomb dogs did not find which means—it wasn’t fired at all. OVERWHELMINGGG.”

After her tweet went viral on X, a news & content organization that goes by the name The Quartering argued with Candace Owens, saying the defense is just trying hard to deny it, but the bullet actually does match the gun.

Replying to the tweet, Owens wrote:

“It isn’t a “defense claim”. It is the ATF that was unable to match the bullet fragment to the gun which the defense wants filed as exculpatory evidence. Stick to your “hey grok, is this real?” reporting and leave the thinking to us adults.”

While the bullet reportedly didn’t match, Tyler Robinson is still not free, as prosecutors say he planned the trip, left clues, and later admitted it to his father. However, Tyler Robinson’s lawyers have requested more time to check the remaining evidence and say that the recent update on the mismatched bullet supports their side that he did not commit the crime.

Last year, NBC News reported that prosecutors said the gun earlier belonged to Tyler Robinson’s grandfather. Talking about other evidence, Kash Patel, in a past statement to Fox and Friends, said:

“I can report today that the DNA hits from the towel that was wrapped around the firearm and the DNA on the screwdriver are positively processed for the suspect in custody”
