Colter races against time to rescue a missing child

Tracker Season 3 Episode 14 titled ‘The Field Trip’ aired on CBS on March 29. As the title suggests, the latest episode of the action procedural explored the aftermath of a school field trip (to a museum) gone wrong. Reenie brought Sara and James Clark’s missing child’s case to Colter as the latter was her client. A distressed James revealed that their son, Alex, was on a school field trip to a museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when he suddenly went missing.

As always, Colter was quick to arrive at the scene of disappearance, ie, the museum in Tracker Season 3 Episode 14. As he investigated the room Alex was last seen in, he discovered the child’s school stickers in the custodian’s room, hinting that a staff member likely lured him out of the building.

Did Colter find Alex?

Here is the complete Tracker Season 3 Episode 14 recap.

Alex’s teacher becomes a primary suspect in Tracker Season 3 Episode 14

As it turns out, custodian Sylvia was a red herring in Tracker Season 3 Episode 14. While James went against Colter’s orders and leaped out of the car to confront Sylvia, she was innocent. Instead, she revealed to the duo that she saw Alex leaving with a teacher, George Brooks. Detective Monroe is quick to point out that Brooks had been quite active on the search, likely because he is diverting the authorities’ attention to list him as a potential suspect. James also reveals that Brooks had a special bond with Alex and used to tutor him after school.

Thanks to Randy’s help, Colter breaks into Brooks’ house, only to find it filled with Alex’s art, especially of a tall man. Colter assumes that the man in the art is Brooks, who had been tutoring Alex and likely kidnapped him from the museum. Colter asks Randy to hack Brooks’ phone location and is shocked to discover it is none other than the Clark house. During the conversation, Colter learns that the man from Alex’s drawing fits Clark’s neighbour, Noah Rossi’s description and not Brooks. Sara reveals that Noah was very friendly towards Alex, used to teach him chess after school and even helped the family in any way he could. Brooks’ phone location proved that he was not the main culprit in Tracker Season 3 Episode 14. Colter believes that Noah kidnapped Alex and Brooks was trying to save his student.

Colter saves Alex after a bloody confrontation in Tracker Season 3 Episode 14

Things take a turn in Tracker Season 3 Episode 14 when Colter arrives at Noah’s house, only to see it in shambles. The blood on the chessboard suggests that Brooks likely tried to save Alex but Noah attacked him. A quick sweep of Noah’s house brings Colter to a framed picture of his cabin, and Randy is quick to assist the rewardist in locating it. The scene shifts to Noah’s cabin and he is sitting with Alex. Meanwhile, Brooks is tied up in Noah’s car. The two men wrestle before Noah attacks Brooks with an axe, as Alex escapes into the woods. Thankfully, Colter is just in time to rescue Brooks but he has a difficult chase ahead.

Colter was quick to catch Noah in Tracker Season 3 Episode 14, who was chasing after Alex. As he caught Noah by the collar and pointed his gun at the middle of his forehead, it looked like he would pull the trigger. However, Colter comes to his senses and pushes Noah aside to comfort the overwhelmed child. Once Noah was handed over to the authorities, Alex was reunited with his parents. James apologizes for doubting Colter and making things difficult for him initially. However, the rewardist advises James to use this second chance with his son wisely and leaves town for another case.
