Brett Gelman, who plays Murray Bauman on Netflix’s Stranger Things is opening up on the show’s creators The Duffer Brother and their brilliance as he shares heartffelt praise about them and their exceptional talents as writers and directors.
Talking to Screen Time about the creators, Gelman talked about the brilliance the duo brought to Stranger Things, and it’s success, specifically noting how they gave so much weight to his role.
Gelman shared,
“The Duffer brothers are brilliant writers, brilliant directors, brilliant minds. So I think they have a lot of fun writing a lot of words for me…A lot of my work’s are the Duffers. Most of them. I’d say 98%. When you’re working on it, it just feels, you know, you’re working, you’re focusing on making it good. And it’s all like a family, it’s tight-knit, it’s set.”
He then talked about a specific scene that he improvised as he added,
“Like in the dinner scene in season 4, when I’m in California with the kids and stuff like that, there was a good amount that was happening there between me and Eduardo. I remember the stoner character that he was improvising a lot. So if you start improvising with me, I’m absolutely going to start improvising with you, because I am an improviser.”
