Chappell Roan credits Miley Cyrus’ impact on women in music during Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special

Chappell Roan credited Miley Cyrus with paving the way for her own artistic freedom during a surprise appearance on Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special.

On the Disney+ special, the Red Wine Supernova hitmaker told the Flowers star’s pioneering approach to performance and self-expression allowed new generations of female artists to take risks without facing the same scrutiny.

“You literally walked so I can run. What I do on stage, where I can go on a red carpet and just be.”

Recalling, Miley Cyrus was heavily criticized for her post-Disney image, which was a complete contrast to her Hannah Montana persona. She was vilified relentlessly during her Bangerz arc, when she released provocative tracks about drugs and wore risque outfits while repeatedly onstage. The singer said in a pre-taped clip:

“Oh, I was gagged for that.”

But for Chappell Roan, Miley Cyrus was a trailblazer for self-expression, an inspiration for many women in the music industry.

“You took a lot of the heat for that in 2012, 2013. I don’t have to deal with that as much because you really … the world took it out on you. To see you be the artist you are, to be able to do this just shows your heart and your appreciation for your younger self and what got you here.”

The Picture You singer added:

“I’m so grateful I get to be a part of this. I grew up watching Hannah Montana at my grandparents’ house. It just means so much.”

Chappell Roan blasted by Jorginho Frello following hotel incident involving his 11-year-old daughter

Chappel Roan’s special appearance on Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special comes on the heels of the viral hotel incident involving her alleged security guard and Jorginho Frello’s daughter.

The football star took to his Instagram Story on March 21, blasting Roan and her supposed security guard for accusing his 11-year-old of disrespecting and harassing the singer.

According to him, his wife, Catherine Harding, and Ada Law, her daughter with ex Jude Law, were having breakfast at a hotel when a woman appeared, whom they were initially unsure of whether she was Chappell Roan.

“By coincidence, they’re staying at the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognised her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her.”

Jorginho added in his post that his daughter “didn’t even approach” the singer, and simply checked if she was really the pop star.

But then, a security guard suddenly approached Harding and the child’s table, accusing the 11-year-old in an “aggressive” manner of disrespecting and harassing Chappell Roan.

“She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything. What happened next was completely disproportionate. A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldn’t allow to ‘disrespect’ or ‘harass’ other people.”

The incident left the child “shaken” and “in tears,” prompting him to blast Chappell Roan.

“WITHOUT FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING. AND TO THE FANS, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AFFECTION.”

The singer later spoke out on the matter, denying her connection with the security guard and insisting she doesn’t hate children.

“I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children. Like, that is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child, that someone was assuming something, that you would do something, and if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”
