The Boys star Jessie T. Usher on his role in Hannah Montana
Before Hannah Montana, Jessie T. Usher had starred in Without a Trace as Malcolm, but his career gained momentum with his appearance on Hannah Montana. After that, Usher went on to star in Lincoln Heights, The Mentalist, Survivor’s Remorse, The Boys, Gen V, and Pulse, among other projects. Ahead of the release of The Boys Season 5, Usher has paid major respect to his breakthrough show, Hannah Montana.
In an interview with Entertainment Now at the The Boys Season 5 world premiere, when asked if it is surprising to him that he has come so far since the Disney show, Usher said,
“Oh my goodness yeah. It’s wild. That was the biggest deal in my life at the time. That was one of the shows that everybody was auditioning for, everybody wanted to be a part of, they had a live audience, like one of the last shows in LA that had a live audience at the time, you know what I mean.”
He continued,
“So there was a lot of pressure. I hadn’t done a live performance since I left the east coast and I moved to Los Angeles and there was no live anything. So that was a big deal you know, and the pressure’s there, the moment we’re there, and you’re also working with an extremely talented cast and crew who already had this thing going, and breathing, and living and just being a part of it was great. So the fact it has been so long and I’ve come so far since then is incredible. Definitely didn’t see it coming.”
