Nathan Dean returning to General Hospital as Ethan is the kind of comeback that instantly stirs up the old family storylines. Ethan has a lot of history across that scene, but one of the clearest loose ends now is Sasha, his half-sister, who left town with Daisy and still has unfinished business hanging over her.
So, when Sofia Mattsson appeared on social media looking very much like someone back in Los Angeles and very much on fans’ minds, people did what soap fans do best. They started connecting dots, circling names, and wondering if Ethan’s return is just the first knock at the door.
General Hospital fans did the math fast
Mattsson shared on Instagram, “Soaking up the LA sunshine 🥰☀️.” The photo showed her in bright sunlight, wearing a black sleeveless top, with darker hair framing her face and greenery softening the background. It was casual, polished, and just vague enough to send people into full decoder mode, wondering if she would be making a GH comeback.
The Stone Cold and the Jackal page also jumped on it, sharing a screenshot and writing, “HAIR’S THE STORY: #GeneralHospitalAlum Sofia Mattsson Debuts New Do” followed by hashtags for new hair color, Mattsson, Sasha Gilmore, and a new hair who-dis vibe.
Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) also weighed in under Mattsson’s post with a simple, approving comment, “Yeah, she is!”, which only added to the little flare-up of attention.
The timing suddenly feels right
Then the fan comments started pouring in with all the subtlety of a fire alarm. @yorkkelsie1993 wrote, “I think it’s time for Sasha to come back to Port Charles,” while @nbawtin said, “Sofia!! Please tell us you are coming back to GH!!” @aboutnici got even more specific, saying, “You’re beautiful, and I missed you on GH. Hopefully, Sasha can come back to Port Charles and reunite with her big brother, Ethan.”
That’s the part that makes this feel different. On any given week, a sunny Instagram post is just a sunny Instagram post. But with Parsons returning as Ethan, Sasha’s name doesn’t feel random in the replies.
Fans kept pushing that exact point. @jaysgirl_0912 asked, “Does this mean you’re back to filming???” @anysunset1 wrote, “Hopefully that’s a hint you are back at GH!” and @jjpenn12 added, “Hoping Sasha returns.” Over on the Stone Cold and the Jackal post, @billiesue1987 wrote, “Beautiful! Can’t Wait For @iamsofiamattsson AKA Sasha To Come Back With Daisy. I Hope This Is A Sign That She Is Returning.”
None of that confirms anything. But it does show you where the audience’s head is right now. Ethan’s return has already reopened an old branch of the family tree. Mattsson’s post just made fans look up and realize there might still be another one waiting to be pulled back into the picture.
