How long were Tommy DeCarlo and Annie married? Marriage life explored after Boston vocalist’s death at 60

Tommy DeCarlo, longtime frontman of the rock band Boston, has died at age 60, according to a statement shared by his family on social media. He had been married to Annie for about 37 years before his passing.

The couple tied the knot on Mar. 22, 1988. This was confirmed through Tommy DeCarlo’s romantic social media post celebrating their wedding anniversary in 2022, in which he referred to his wife as the “love of my life.”

“34 years ago I married the love of my life, 34 years later we are ‘Still In Love.’ Happy Anniversary, Annie!”

At the time, Tommy DeCarlo accompanied his sweet message with a black-and-white selfie of them behind what appeared to be a concert venue.

The couple also commemorated their 35th anniversary in 2023, marking the occasion with another selfie of them together during what looked like one of their travels.

On Facebook, his wife, Annie, and two children, Talia and Tommy Jr., confirmed his death in a heartfelt tribute.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our Dad, Tommy DeCarlo, on Monday, March 9th, 2026. After being diagnosed with brain cancer last September, he fought with incredible strength and courage right up until the very end.”

The family adds:

“During this difficult time, we kindly ask that friends and fans respect our family’s privacy as we grieve and support one another. Rest in peace, Dad. With love, Annie, Talia & Tommy Jr.”

Last December, a GoFundMe campaign was set up for Tommy DeCarlo amid his health crisis. In the bio, his family elaborated on the Boston singer’s condition, citing that the fundraiser campaign was launched to support his recovery.

“In late September, Dad suffered a sudden brain bleed and underwent an emergency craniotomy. During surgery, doctors discovered two melanoma masses on his brain and another spot on his lungs. He amazed us by recovering from the surgery and beginning treatment, but before he could complete it, he had another brain bleed and was hospitalized from November 27th to December 27th. Since then he has completed acute inpatient therapy and is currently back on track with treatments from his oncology team.”

The bio continues:

“Our Dad is strong. He is a fighter. And he’s giving this battle everything he’s got — but he needs your help on this one.”

The message also voices its gratitude to those who expressed their support for the singer.

“He is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support he’s already received from friends, family, and fans all over the world. It has lifted him up during the hardest moments and reminded him he’s not fighting alone.”

As of writing, the campaign has raised over $56,900.
